151-Lancer 0 Posted March 19, 2007 Can any kind soul please explain how to get addons to show in game, SP or MP? Do they have to be scripted in a mission or is there some other way? I have placed the addons in the correct folder so I'm obviously doing something daft. Please be gentle, I'm one of "those" chaps that has migrated from Ghost Recon without learning my chops in OFP. Thanks
bravo 6 0 Posted March 19, 2007 BIS need to release the right tools so the community can use to build these addons so we can download and use on our servers and computers. I think alot of modmakers are waiting for this BIS promise.

Thanks Use the editor, and add the addons in that. They won't appear by themselves in any of your existing missions, you'll need to make one and include the addon in the same way you'd use any other item in the game. Luckily, this is all very easy in ArmA
MehMan 0 Posted March 19, 2007 But just incase, OFP addons won't work in ArmA.
monkeyboy27 0 Posted March 19, 2007 Aye... the addons don't usually replace anything (unless they specifically say they do) so you need to make new missions to use them.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted March 24, 2007 I think I'm getting the same problem as the thread starter. If I put any addon .pbo into the Arma\AddOns folder the new units never show up in the editor like they're supposed to. I've never managed to work out why. Mr Sarkey 0 Posted March 24, 2007 I might be wrong but don't .pbo's also need an acompanying bisign file ...
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted March 25, 2007 I might be wrong but don't .pbo's also need an acompanying bisign file ... Apparently not (or at least none of the few addons that I've looked at so far have ever had one). Anyway, I discovered that my own problem was due to some (as yet undetermined) incompatibilty with another addon.
Cosmonaut 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Whenever I place any .PBO file in the Addons folder my ArmA refuses to start ... haven't a clue why but I hope I can figure someday.
rundll.exe 12 Posted March 25, 2007 Bad guys You should never put addons in the Arma/Addons folder Use modfolders instead and for testing you can make some @test/addons folder to put your stuff in. Use ArmAstart from kegetys to start ArmA with the modfolder, and ur done
Teliko 0 Posted March 25, 2007 The "Modern Warfare" mod (sound/config mod) uses a different BIN.pbo file which for some reason stops addons from appearing anywhere.
walker 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Hi all FYI: Some Addons, those in the side empty or game logic slots, do not show up; untill after there is player inserted. Kind Regards walker
