ARMA Chimney Easter Egg

Recommended Posts

I was using Deadeye's Mr Editor Guy which features a free view camera and while flying over that really long factory chimney i saw this IN the chimney. I don't know if anyone has ever noticed it before but it's really funny!

The SLA pilots also wear US Army Air Assault wings on their shoulder. The RAC Captain Riboli wears the crest of the US Army Special Forces on his chest.

They probably bought them off e-bay! tounge2.gif

Is "air assault wings" the one with the helicopter?

Bah! double post. This forum tardiness is getting annoying!

There's an earlier thread with more "easter eggs". The

inscription on the M9 pistol for example reads "STFU" and

the newspapers among the garbage have some real life

headlines. I also fancy I once saw a tree with an inscription

cut into the bark but I was too busy at the time holding off

the enemy from my M113 like a virtual Audie Murphy* to get

a closer look.

* Absolutely no offence intended. I have nothing but awed

reverence for Audie L. Murphy.

Yeah, the air assault badge is the bottom one in my signature, they wear it on their left shoulder. It denotes graduation from the course and is combined infantry-aviation warfare. Different from the concept of "Air Mobile," where air mobile was transportation, air assault also adds attack capabilities to the air element.

It's a fairly easy course, just don't fail the obstacle course or the written test and you should be fine.

Ha! Hard to believe Audie Murphy was denied from the paratroopers for being "too small."

Dunno if it's an easter egg or not, but the civilian car's license plates have arabic above the license number.

^ Pointless post!

On a side-note, there is apparently a car-wreck somewhere on the coastline (underwater) on Sahrani, but I am yet to find it (I doubt its existance, but I've heard a few people make mention of it), just wondered if anyone else has actually found it.

Franks truck, reverence of it is only found in William Porters Blog, still hope to read a message where he tells they have removed the truck from the bottom of the sea/ocean and recycled it or something.

On a side note, in the UK game magazine PC FORMAT there is an A2 Map of Sahrani included, on it there is a reference of an ship wreck just under the island of San Tomas, grid Ef85 (or something like that) have been searching with camera.sqs but both from the air as under the water surface there is nothing to be found in that area sad_o.gif

Added info: the Town Corazol is 3067km to the east of New York and 3180km west of Plymouth according to that map

lol i looked on google earth (i know its a fictional island). And that would lie in the middle of the atlantic! Plus its distance would be distorted to the Bermuda islands as shown on topographical map :P

Great! I'll get out my old combat jacket (from 25 years ago)! Where do I apply?  wink_o.gif

Yes, he was only 5' 5" on enlistment. During the award of his Congressional

Medal of Honor many commented that he looked "like a little kid". Many also

disliked his portrayal in the semi-autobiographical film "To Hell and Back"

because they thought he looked too small and it made his combat scenes look

unconvincing! Here he is just after receiving his Medal of Honor (looking like

a little kid).

there is a reference of an ship wreck...

Once modders get divers working (I'm especially looking forward to that)

I hope there'll be lots more addon wreck models appearing. Having done

it for some years already in the real world, it'd be fun to explore some

wrecks in ArmA too. For a place with "historical" nautical connections

like Sahrani there'd likely be dozens, if not hundreds, of wrecks lying

around it. Also in lots of places in the real world military hardware

(especially tanks) has been sunk to form the nuclei of artificial reefs.

That sort of thing seems quite fitting for ArmA.

But yeah, Audie Murphy did look like a little kid, he looks to be about 12 years old...I had a Lieutenant who looked like that once...
