Again and again crash in the MP

hi,

My problem: As soon as I play on-line, I get a black screen after approximately 5 to 10 minutes and my PC starts again.

In SP everything runs normally.

I find the following entry in the ArmA.RPT:

Did you try removing the SaraLite pbo? I can't really think of a reason, but that's at least different from normal setup smile_o.gif

I could link a crash of the game to a gamebug but i'm not so sure if a full PC reset is easily caused by gamebug smile_o.gif

Please take a look at this link

I think I read other ppl having problems with those ATI 7.1 Drivers, was the problem there even with older drivers?

i had the same ctd whith sarahlight;

allways ctd in MP, when i removing that no ctd,

care ful whith addons

Thanks for the references.

@dob: only ctd or also reboot?

I bought also a new power supply, because I had assumed the problem there.

But this new power pack brought however no success.

Which irritates me somewhat, is the reference to “ntdll.dll†icon_rolleyes.gif

This evening I make then a test without Sara Light and with older ATI drivers.

NTDLL.dll related crashes and bugs ... so i'm not alone wink_o.gif

happens for sure with 7.1 Catalyst (and if i remember right with 6.12 also) and X1950 serie cards ...

If I am not mistaken, most crashes are on ntdll.dll as thats the dll with the most kernel calls smile_o.gif

So in short, I don't think you can trace it back to anything specific at this time. Kernel call problems can be anything... either faulty code, faulty hardware, faulty drivers, the whole thing biggrin_o.gif

Just some random quote about ntdll.dll

i had/have similar problems with my Core 2 Duo 6700, i assigned only 1 core to the arma.exe via Ctrl-Alt-Delete (CPU 1) and now i'm have ctd after 1-2 hours instead of 5-10mins

Are you guys using the Sprocket version of ArmA? Cause it has the Multiplayer CTD that everyone is complaining about in the Sprocket thread above that is pinned.

hi,

My PC works now also in MP.

What did I undertake?

I de-install ArmA completely and I deleted all ArmA folders.

I installed the original ATI driver again, which were with my x1950 thereby.

I installed an additional standard fan, which cools my x1950 some more.

Then I installed ArmA and all Patches again.

That's all...now ArmA runs stably in MP games...so far ;-)

well i tested this on half dozen systems i built in past weeks ...

it sometimes works hours w/o CTD crash or FREEZE ...

all hw is fresh new and w/o bugs, pass any type of stress and stability tests ...

p.s. i'm glad he can at least play MP smile_o.gif bugs i was encoutering happens RND or by certain events in SP/MP ...

Me and a friend both has German 1.02 boxed set and we keep CTDing. Sometimes I get the memory surface thing, but usually not. We have different HW platforms and had a clean XP install before I installed Arma (went from w2k to xp due to Arma).

Also my friend, after crashing, cannot reconnect to the server again but I can. I know this won't add much, but it's just a teaser for the real report. smile_o.gif

Where do I find arma.rpt? And do I get this as MP client (not server)?

arma.rpt is by default located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\<YOURUSERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\ArmA\

of course this differ if you manually changed Documents folder
