Mister Frag 0 Posted December 20, 2001 It is interesting that on the only file that both of you had problems with (2-8_T_CityConflict.ABEL.pbo), the actual CRC was the same. That leads me to believe that data corruption (from a VIA chipset, for example) is not the cause of this. Could it be that the V1.40 misidentifies the version and uses the wrong expected CRC, or that both of you got the V1.30 patch from the same location, and it was bad? Alaskan 0 Posted December 20, 2001 well how do i find the via drivers and even if im useing via chipset drivers which i dont think i am 800 AMD Athlon  slot A proc. BI and CS and the forum Admins some help would be nice i know your awake in Euro now so wheres the info lol jokeing nicely ..well i got the latest drivers from AMD and im not useing Via so thats not it for those peeps who have amd and want to check there is a handy tool at amd.com under tech support then under drivers there is a tool that will detect what u have and it will chose the right MOBO drviers for you.. Guest Posted December 20, 2001 Maybe this is bis addressing the issue of the "corruption" caused by the via drivers. They verify the files you had installed in 1.30, but install 1.40 anyway, even though there is corruption in your files. Yikes! Imagine when people start creating cheats by modifying the maps... tlx 0 Posted December 21, 2001 What i did is to completly uninstall OFP. Deleted whole folder afterwards. Then i installed 1.00 and patched it 1.20 > 1.30 > 1.40 without errors. I also downloaded the archive again from here as advised by TommyToad. Had one of this early bird codemasters archives, while they just uploaded it. Maybe Mal is right also who knows. Badger 0 Posted December 21, 2001 Toad.... I didn't get my upgrade from Codemaster's site. I got it from Bohemia's site and I have all of the problems I showed in my previous post. The unfortunate thing about this is the lack of response in this thread by anyone from Bohemia. You'd think they'd be interested enough to clarify what's happening. I think Mal might be onto something - basically, those maps that you folks have might actually BE different from the official maps. And ENOUGH of this requirement to have an OFFICIAL RESPONSE. Jesus. The point of a troubleshooting forum provided by the actual software developer is to identify and solve customer problems, not watch "kids" verbally beat each other up. Apparently you don't have any problems and as a result have contributed little to this thread, except cloud the issue with personal commentary. Now, can we get back to asking the Bohemia's support reps on their public provided medium, if they have any idea as to what's causing this problem on a wide variety of undoctored and unmodified systems.
