LT.INSTG8R 0 Posted December 6, 2006 I have yet to figure out how to switch to grenades without basically chucking all my other gear on the ground so I only have grenades available. I havent gotten to far into the missions but even in training with my Sqaud, throwing the green smoke to mark the EVAC has become a 10 minute exercise while I button mash trying to find the right combo till I give up and throw the rest on the ground to get it in my hand. This cant be very useful in a combat situation with real frags and live fire about.. Help?

LT.INSTG8R 0 Posted December 6, 2006 I have went thru the controls MANY times and saw nothing of the sort. I thought that F was the cycle weapons modes(but then I never tried pressing it to try to get a grenade only to change my fire rates) I have the Metaboli German version and well my German is not up to snuff enough to read thru the PDF(the language pack doesnt convert the manual ) Thanks alot tho I will try that post-haste Edit: Ha what do you know I press F THREE Times and I get grenades Duh sorry to be a bother
Iron Eddie 0 Posted December 7, 2006 Yesterday I experienced a strange weapon selection behaviour (in MP) , too. I had a lot of handgrenades with me and an M4 ACOG or something As I wanted to throw a nade into a house before clearing I was not able to select one. Tried a lot of things to fix it but it was not working for me. Pressing F key only changed the firing modes, no sign of a nade... Action menu did not help, too (e.g. reload nades not possible). Seems to be a temporarily 'bug', or side effect. Would be glad to hear about similar experiences, if it is a bug (and no user error) then we should post it to the official bug list. BTW: I am no noob, play OFP for ages ... So no need for unqualified, or even offending replies!
ZIKAN 0 Posted December 7, 2006 I also had a nade selection issue during a MP game last night. I had two grenades yet couldnt select them to use. They were clearly in my inventory, but I couldnt use them at all. I picked them up from a dead unit previously. I was playing as an opfor sniper at the time. Pressing the F key didnt rotate the weapons either.
WhoCares 0 Posted December 7, 2006 I am not sure, but I think there are two very similar options, one just cycling thru firing modes of the current weapon, the other also switching to grenades. I had to try a little with these to map the latter option to my fourth mouse button, but I am not sure what the name of the options was...
craigsa 0 Posted December 7, 2006 Same prob, f just cycles through rates of fire
BlackAlpha 10 Posted December 7, 2006 Quote[/b] ]Right Ctrl. RTFM This key cycle thru weapon modes and grenades. Blimey! Â So what does the space bar do now then? Space bar is used for the command view thingy. If you are the leader you can give orders while holding space and look around you.
craigsa 0 Posted December 7, 2006 O so how do we through frags and HE's ?
BlackAlpha 10 Posted December 7, 2006 Like other people said with the F key. I think frags and HE are the same, for balance reasons. Like the RPG and LAW are the same, etc.
Iron Eddie 0 Posted December 11, 2006 I assumpt, that the nade selection problem occurs if you are in MP session and a player connects JIPpy in your slot .... There are many strange behaviours caused by the JIP feature. It is no use writing that you have to press the 'f' key. It is written in the manual .... ;-) I think the problem is going to be resolved if the JIP is fixed. There should already be a BUG reported in the official buglist, I am not sure now. So this thread could be closed
LT.INSTG8R 0 Posted December 11, 2006 Well after a reinstall and the 6thsense all-in-one patch and replacing with my old profile I cant use F to switch to the AT launcher anymore(I could before) So yeah it seems to be hit and miss.
