G as far as I know and use Shift+G to cycle thru availables.

"Normally" when I see artifacts like that I would say RAM overheating/unststable clocks. Is this happening right away or over time? If it is happening over time then I would go with my original statement. If it's happening right away then I would look at the basics like trying different drivers, making sure DX is up to the latest version available etc, basic troubleshooting stuff.

Actually for me this is the first ARMA of 3 I bought all on release that I have actually enjoyed playing and NOT struggled with performance. As you can see in my Sig my rig is relatively "top shelf" and so were my rigs when ARMA and ARMA II came out. I have always run the flagship ATI/AMD card of the generation skipping a few lemons and the best bang for the buck CPU of the day, but I remember just giving up in frustration over the absolute dismal performance and left them to "marinate" This one has been a joy to play out of the box it's only fault is that this one came with very little in the box to play with from the beginning. My SJ mates and I have been playing CTO Occupation on Altis and not had a dull moment or performance issue. Edit: Forgot too mention my actual performance. With pretty much running the "Very High" preset and a 3K view distance I get 40-60 fps all the time on Altis playing Occupation Totally happy with that when other memebers of SJ with older rigs are running in the teens despite trying my best to help them thru the GFX configs to see if we can get a few extra FPS wherever we could. So I see both sides of the coin.

It IS an ATI problem....I can rename it any number of CF .exe's and it near doubles the fps. ATI just needs to make one that works with ArmA(the stobing of the HDR is the main issue)

If you mean the Dual Core Optimizer or just the Processor Driver? I would get both the latest of them.

If you want later drivers for your card head over Here and try the latest Mobility Modder Oh and ATI far from sucks just the OEM's who use them do

Sry to ask but what does changing the Arma.exe to fear.exe do? Is it like the same fix that was for Oblivion for a while? Basically just tricking it into using a known, working Crossfire .exe forcing it to run in Crossfire as ArmAstill isnt in the list so there is no gain in performance in Crossfire mode.

Its a whole package(Driver/CCC) so you can pretty much do it however you like.

Im glad the leak is fixed. But still no Crossfire support(figured if they took the time to look at this game they coulda done that too..) Island Fly-over arma.exe=18-20 fps fear.exe=50-53 All on Normal/Low shadows disabled.

+1 Im sick of ATI just passing over games for their supposed "profile free" Crossfire. Seems every new game I play seems to need ATI to make a Profile for or else CF doesnt work. Now here were are months on with ArmA and still nothing...

It is good to see you over here looking into it. I hope while your at it you may take a look at Crossfire as well as there is no performance gains from it at this point.

Actually Im not sure how the ATI Catalyst team is split up now but when the 7.3s came out it was brought up on another forum that one of the actual Catalysts Devs is a regular and he was completely unaware of the issue. I will also surmise that it will be a low priority for them until it has NA release("global"), then it may be pushed up on the list.

Yeah I disabled Crossfire yesterday just to see if it made any difference. Basically it runs the same(As I have known all along ATI has yet to do any kind of optimizations for this game, let alone any sort of Crossfire profile for it)I suppose IF they did a Crossfire I would be able to play it. I do truly suspect it is the ATI drivers that are the issue. I am currently using the Beta set they put out a week or so ago that added a Crossfire Profile for STALKER and Im playing quite a bit of TestDrive Unlimited and it is also suffering from alot of performance issues(tho I CAN play it with HDR+2xAA and maintain a decent 25-35 FPS) but they are aware of its low performance on pretty much all machines and a patch is slated for May. Basically the only way I can get any decent FPS out of it is to put everything on Very Low and run a a little AA and AF.

Im sorry mate you are obviously REALLY wrong on that one. Why dont you go visit AMD and clear yourself up The 165 is a single core the 170 is a DUAL CORE.(heck you could see that pretty clearly in the benchmark pics I posted...) But just to set you straight,heres a little link for ya Opteron 170 Dual Core.... As for having NV card nope, ATI guy(I am aware that this is also an ATI driver issue as they have YET to make any sort of fix with the handle leak issue or provide any kind of working Crossfire profile) Of course, the Opteron 165 is an Dual Core Prozessor as well. I got both; 165 and 170 and both are Dual Core. The 165 is maxing out (here) @2x2.8GHz; the 170 @2x2.6GHz (core failure above that) Thats right 165 is the "smallest"of the Dual's. I was thinking of the 148's THATS the Single Core model
