lawkim 0 Posted November 26, 2006 Hi, I looked for some Hind-A pics. I was trying but I couldn't find any pics inside the cockpit I linked some of the exterior pics of the hind tho. I hope I was of any help. Hind-A01 Hind-A02 BTW, While I was trying to find some pictures of Hind-A I found this amazing looking monster. Does anyone know if there is any add-on out there for this beautiful Super-Hind? Super-Hind01 Super-hind02 Enjoy!

Guest RKSL-Rock Posted November 26, 2006 BTW, While I was trying to find some pictures of Hind-AI found this amazing looking monster. Does anyone know if there is any add-on out there for this beautiful Super-Hind? Ive got plans to make the ATE SuperHind MkV witht he new nose and cockpit setup but ive no eta on it and its more than likely to end up as a purely ArmA project. eh, only if someone spotted my previous post...  PDFs about Mi-24 Hind (much info) !!! someone please spot that download or i gona kill my self  Thanks for the effort Gedis but ive got all of those. None of those books actually solves the problem they all mention the 3rd crewmember but not one actually explains his location.
BlackScorpion 0 Posted November 27, 2006 From a couple of internet resources I looked at yesterday I picked this stuff: Mi-24A (Hind-B) and Hind-A are not the same thing. Hind-B lacks the (single) 12.7mm MG, and atleast one source stated that it eliminated the engineer from the crew, too. Some sources state that the Hind-A (atleast) has the engineer sitting side-by-side with the pilot, some say he (no female choppers engineers in Soviet AF, eh?) sat next to the pilot (possibly a tad behind, dunno, sideways. One source even states that there were 4 crewmembers: 2 pilots, a gunner and an FO (for arty?). Too bad this link was about the wrong bird. Well it could've helped! One source even states that there were 4 crewmembers: 2 pilots, a gunner and an FO (for arty?). I’ve spent most of today in the Imperial War Museum Archives (I have a friend who works there) going through various books and pictures.  Not one picture of the engineer’s seat. From what little I have found it appears the prototypes (V-24) may have carried the 3rd crew member in the forward cockpit but by the time the production models were in service this wasn’t the case. Hind A pre production models are virtually the same as what NATO named the Hind B.  Most of the pics of the “Hind A†are actually the earlier prototype with straight wings and no nose gun and the converted pre production prototypes with the dihedral wings.  Various versions of the –B have the 12.7mm gun and some have the same motorised chin turret as the –D version.  All in all the Hind-A and –B NATO names seem to cover 12-15 (depending on sources) development airframes and variants. Who knows what’s right :P For now im just going with the Pilot and Gunner config I already have. Too bad this link was about the wrong bird. Well it could've helped! LMAO – Loved that.  Wasnt exactly what I was expecting
lawkim 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Hey I might have stumbled onto something here. MI-24A When you see one of the pictures, you can see the chasis(?) of the inside the cockpit of the Mi-24A Would this help? well good luck! Can't wait till piloting in one of these bad boys. p.s. oh yeah, one of the readings I got from the kind PDF-files Gedis provided, Hind-B is actually an earlier version of Hind-A since Hind proto-type was later known to the Western world after they found about the Hind-A. Fork122 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Too bad this link was about the wrong bird. Well it could've helped! Ha ha! The best pictures are the Spetznaz extraction, the downed helicopter, and best of all the illusion of flying Edit: Check out the RPG man (closest to boarding the helicopter) in the Spetznaz extraction. Pretty good Lego RPG if you ask me
Gedis 0 Posted November 28, 2006 yeah, lego beats everything and cool, Mi-24A & U(Y in russian) manual for crew... very rare thing...
Supernova 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Thats awesome RockofSol you should release it along with the 'CANDID' once its done . RockofSol as for regarding the engineers seat the Russian Udarnaya Sila series (forgot the name of the exact one) has what you need for pictures etc... Unfortunately that is for the V-24 - the prototype but if you look at this pic: It shows the control links for the Pilot and gunner but nothing for a possible 3rd seat... ...you should release it along with the 'CANDID' once its done . Well its not likely to be released unitl mid Jan at the earliest and the Candid isnt likely to be released for OFP. Â It would take far too long to make it MP compatible in its current form. ...RockofSol as for regarding the engineers seat the Russian Udarnaya Sila series (forgot the name of the exact one) has what you need for pictures etc... To be honest i've decided im not going to worry about the engineer anymore. Â I'm going to continue with the 2 crew setup. Thanks to everyone whos spent time digging around for research material i appreciate it alot.
max power 21 Posted November 29, 2006 BTW, While I was trying to find some pictures of Hind-AI found this amazing looking monster. Does anyone know if there is any add-on out there for this beautiful Super-Hind? Super-Hind01 Super-hind02 Enjoy! Quite possibly the most brutal, ugly looking thing I have ever seen. It looks like a hind that was mutated by some kind of radioactive blender.
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Agreed... that beast is too weird... I prefer the Mi-35M with two 23mm chin-mounted cannons... (click here to see larger image). @RockofSL Maybe somebody of the Flashpoint.ru community could dredge out that info of where the engineer seat was... if not, could you create a cargo seat overlooking what seems to me to be a side-by-side seating arrangement of pilot & gunner? That would be cool and also give the third person in the cockpit overview and outside view of what the "main" crew was doing...
BlackScorpion 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Yer thumbnail not working. And doesn't the Mi-35M have 2 23mm (same as in ZU-23-2?) cannons under it's chin, not 30mm?

Must have been my wishful thinking... Mi-35M is armed with GSh-23L 23mm cannons. And I've added a link to the image, sorry about the thumbnail not working... Post edited, thanks for noticing! Gedis 0 Posted November 30, 2006 RockofSol as for regarding the engineers seat the Russian Udarnaya Sila series (forgot the name of the exact one) has what you need for pictures etc... not only for pictures, in this video, it is said in russian, that Mi-24A had a seat for pilot and for gunner.
