RabbitFighter 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Ok, after several years I decided to reinstall OFP and play again. Â The game installs fine however it will not run. Â Here is sequence: -> double click icon to start the game -> CD starts spinning up -> I get two new processes in "Task Manager", one is Operation Flashpoint.exe and the other is ~ef7194.tmp -> after a few seconds both processes disappear, CD stops spinning that's it...no error messages, nothing Here are system specs: CPU: AMD64 3000+ RAM: 2GB GPU: ATI X800XL OS: Windows XP SP2 Monitor: 19" LCD 1280x1024 60Hz Any thoughts, advice, help? XCess 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I doubt this would help, but seeing as you have a 60hz monitor, you might need it anyway. -Goto Start/Run -Type dxdiag and hit enter -Click the advanced tab -Click more help then overrded -Set override value to 60 -Click ok and exit This solves any problems with a black screen on starting OFP, usually with 60hz monitors. Also, which version are you runing, Resistance v1.96 does not require a CD, so an upgrade to latest version could help you out.

Quote[/b] ]Operation Flashpoint.exe = Cold War Crisis Resistance uses Flashpointresistance.exe.
Heatseeker 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Have you tried patching up to 1.46? How can someone not have resistance?
RabbitFighter 0 Posted October 20, 2006 XCess, I will give that a try later today and see if it helps. Heatseeker, I have not tried patching yet because I was first trying to just get the game to run in single player mode and then patch. Â But, I will apply the patches and see if that helps. thanks for the input
wheres my rabbit ? 10 Posted October 20, 2006 get resistance for two reasons 1. you aint gonna be playing any multiplayer games on "ye olde 1.46 flashpoint" 2. you need to use the -nomap command to start cos sometimes the game doesn't like to run at all if you have a lot of ram like 2gb

Got same results.  Is that the correct usage? Thanks

action man 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Try this:- click on short cut to flashpoint preferences.Next (and i presume you have already done this) click on auto detect setting's.Then(the important bit) start the game from flashpoint preferences.once the game as started this way the next time you want to start it you can start it the normal way

Is that the correct usage? Like I said before, you have OFP: Cold War Crisis, not OFP: Resistance. -Nomap wasn't even implemented in CWC.
