R0adki11 3949 Posted September 2, 2006 thanks for the constructive comments, ive finished my university exam resits, so im confindent i will be progressing into the 3rd and final year of my degree, which means i now can resume making my infantry units . I hope to have some new progress pictures soon. Im going to try to make some better textures, and i may try to use the DMA euro_res troops as a basis, ive not decided as of yet. Though i am thinking of using the recently released weapon pack by mapfact on my infantry, but i would like to know peoples opnions on that, i may just stay with JAM based weapons, to keep the restrictions low. Thanks all once again

rellikki 7 Posted September 30, 2006 That looks pretty good actually But I'd myself change the helmet model, or at least the camo on it, and add somekind of vest for them.
R0adki11 3949 Posted September 30, 2006 Yea im planing on changing the camo on the hemets and some vests as i get round to it, I will post some more screenshots soon of my other infantry units.
somebloke 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Ah, so this is what you were using the camo schemes for. Â The units look pretty good. Nice work. What gun is that btw?
echo1 0 Posted September 30, 2006 What gun is that btw? Its a Sterling SMG. Those units are looking good

somebloke 0 Posted September 30, 2006 What gun is that btw? Its a Sterling SMG. Those units are looking good  I thought it was a sterling, but i can't see where the mag is, usually it sticks out the left side, but i can't see it in the pics.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted September 30, 2006 It looks like a good start. Are you using a few models for variety or is it all going to be one model? A few different hats would be good. Looking at the pics, one thing stands out (to me anyways)Maybe do something with those hands...they look a little

R0adki11 3949 Posted September 30, 2006 Ive got several plans to make different soldier models, with caps, boonies, beret and maybe one injured soldier model. I went with a western style helmet as i didnt want my infantry too look like Ironsights EDF troops, im planning to futher change the camo somebloke has supplied me, without his camo packs i wouldnt be where i am now. I am now looking for a sutable texture for a vest, or should only the best troops have vests ? The weapon you see is indeed the sterling i thought it would make a good tank crew and crew member weapon.
kala 0 Posted September 30, 2006 I went with a western style helmet The helmet they wear at the moment is western stlye too, maybe you should still think about HYK helmet?
somebloke 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Which camo scheme did you use for the units in the pics? I may be able to make a helmet version for you. And if may make a suggestion for beret colours. Normal infantry - Dark blue (like the RAF Regiment) Officer - Black or Dark Green Medic - Khaki? Givvus a shout if you want variations on the camo for different units/sections of the force. R0adki11 3949 Posted September 30, 2006 More Screens Shots of My Units Inside Oxygen: http://www.8bit-online.co.uk/thvc/screens/helmet1.jpg http://www.8bit-online.co.uk/thvc/screens/helmet2.jpg http://www.8bit-online.co.uk/thvc/screens/helmet3.jpg http://www.8bit-online.co.uk/thvc/screens/helmet4.jpg @RockIslandMarine, thankyou for the suggestions on vehicles and equipment i am thinking on the lines of only nogova having to fund its military. So i am going to concentrate on my infantry first and a few support vehicles, probably will not go with an airforce.
Blackbuck 9 Posted September 30, 2006 they look good a bit like the EDF but good i like the sterling too
R0adki11 3949 Posted September 30, 2006 i understand what you mean by they look like edf, its just a matter of getting the camo right, then they wont look like edf, i want them unique, the only way i can do is possible to use a russian helmet and russian accessories.
Blackbuck 9 Posted September 30, 2006 yea, a russian helmet and some russian webbing will go a long way
somebloke 0 Posted September 30, 2006 You could use a russian M40 helmet with camo. As for support vehicles, i think a Land rover or 80s equivalent would be realistic for an island like Nogova.
belgerot 33 Posted October 1, 2006 These units would look good with Russian equipment, but nothing too old. If you are going to use Soviet era equipment, why not for a militia/reservist soldier?
olemissrebel 0 Posted October 1, 2006 look at nogova, it has roughly no economy= cheap ass equipment. they'd be lucky to have CCCP issue equipment, if anything.
MontyVCB 0 Posted October 1, 2006 CCCP was the soviet space agency so they would be lucky if they got gear from them :P
belgerot 33 Posted October 1, 2006 Hmm.. Looking at it that way I see your point. I guess whatever is made for these troops will sit well with me.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted October 1, 2006 This whole "discuss what Nogova could/could not afford for a military has been done before....to death.
FA Dalai Lamar 0 Posted October 1, 2006 I vote for the RHS model of Russian Helmet with more Russian Equipment...Could you make a version without the Llama head model too? Lamar
