madmedic 0 Posted February 22, 2006 I have one in my collection...and it is well worn...if you would like some close up pics to base your textures on, just let me know.
JdB 151 Posted February 22, 2006 Of course I can use them! Especially so that I can see what particular parts should get the most damage, I like stuff that doesn't look like new. Any picture is good as long as it is in favorable light conditions (in other words not too dark).
madmedic 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Just a "heads up" about your model: The magazine is too big, and the grip is a little off. Here are links to some pics of my SMLE: Group photo SMLE SMLE SMLE SMLE SMLE SMLE SMLE SMLE SMLE SMLE Hope these help...I can send them to you if you want. harley 3 1185 0 Posted February 22, 2006 I don't if JdB (the modelling artist formerly known as Lt HuNTeR) is doing the No 4 series of weapons. Would be nice if you did . Give me a British made Enfield any day of the week, though. Those Lithgow-made Enfields have never struck me as the best.
JdB 151 Posted February 22, 2006 Thanks for the pics And no, I am not going to do the No4 MkI, MkII or T. This thread is called Project SMLE for a reason. The No4 is not known as the SMLE, where as the No1 MkIII is. (Don't worry, you're not the first person I rejected ) And besides, Inv 44 has lovely No4 Mk1s that are far better then mine will ever be No4 Mk1 subject closed. Squadron 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Takes me back to cadets...(Yes 20 years ago) Same here, although the majority of ours were welded so you couldn't fire them. Looking good mate!

Did some texture stuff on the rifle itself again yesterday, but it's not ready for showing yet.

miss_cleo 0 Posted March 2, 2006 Looking good... Are you going to be adding the metal band that runs from the rear of the reciever to the trigger guard?
JdB 151 Posted March 2, 2006 Are you going to be adding the metal band that runs from the rear of the reciever to the trigger guard? As said, the textures are only about half way done. I've already forgotten about it on more then one occasion, so it's a good reminder to not forget it at all

Jimpy 0 Posted March 4, 2006 I am working on a No.1 Mk III rifle too for the "Northern Ireland mod". This rifle was used by the Irish Republican Army in the early 1970s. Here are a couple of quick WIP pics of the "Smelly": The colouring is not really textures, just flat colours. The model still needs work in places. The images posted earlier of an actual example will be useful. Thanks! I am also doing the No.4 Mk. 1, No.4 (T) and the L42A1. Links to some WIP pics of unfinished models, again with flat colours: Rifle, .303", No.4 Mk.1(T) with no. 32 Telescope http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/whisky01/No4Ta.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/whisky01/No4T.jpg The same rifle but wrapped in hessian for camouflage (based on a photo of an army sniper training cadre from 1970) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/whisky01/No4Twrapped.jpg Rifle, 7.62mm, L42A1 with Telescope, Straight, Sighting, L1A1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/whisky01/L42b.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/whisky01/L42a.jpg Many, many other new weapons are also under construction for the mod. JdB 151 Posted March 4, 2006 Great that you are also working on the same weapon, but what has your threadhijacking to do with my version? Edit: To give this post more meaning:
