mp_phonix 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Not really a U.S. Army star per se...but the patch of the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division featuring the patch, the star and the Native American's head in the center. oh ok its just very similar to the star in the "Amercias Army" game . .my bag
Blackbuck 9 Posted May 20, 2006 if it was up to me i'd use CADPAT or MARPAT for the blackops because then they could be based on force recon couldnt they  check the 2 following links the pictures are rather large... CADPAT Candian Digital Camouflage Pattern USMC MARPAT Digital Camouflage Pattern
echo1 0 Posted May 20, 2006 I know, why not multicam?
Blackbuck 9 Posted May 20, 2006 because that isnt in service with any known army yet
echo1 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Theres a lot of things used by Spec-Ops that arent in regular service.
Blackbuck 9 Posted May 20, 2006 true but CADPAT or MARPAT would be more appropriate don't you think being as they are in service with the larger branches of the forces but then again the USMC is technically an elite force in its own right so that makes force recon and elite elite force, they arent part of USSOCOM either so to speak anywayz its up to TB and co. to decide
Marco.A.Aguilar1 0 Posted May 20, 2006 CADPAT and MARPAT on U.S. Army units? Doesn't make sense. 80% of the games out there (Futuristic or Modern) have you play as Marines or Navy SEALs (Doom, Halo, BF2, SOCOM, so on and so on...What are DEVs obsession with those branchs? I am not bagging or anything but I think they have seen to many movies (which also 80% have Marines or Navy SEALs in them or at least former). "Who is he Bill, I don't know sir, but he is Ex-Navy SEALs..." I think they see them as the Elite of the Elite...But I think the Army needs some recognition as well and I believe BI is doing a good job on doing that. Edit1: Just my 34 cents and again, I am not dissing branches, just stating facts.
echo1 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Its true, OFP and FFUR have always seemed to centre around the Army. SEALs/Marines are popular cause theyre kinda special and elite, they make for good movies, but in a real war most of the fighting is done by the Grunts as such
Blackbuck 9 Posted May 20, 2006 nobody ever does force recon though so there now get back on topic again or placebo will warn us all

prodetar2 0 Posted May 20, 2006 wich one is better? oh and there is a bin file included but do i have to overwrite the original bin file of ffur?

EricJ 765 Posted May 20, 2006 Its true, OFP and FFUR have always seemed to centre around the Army. SEALs/Marines are popular cause theyre kinda special and elite, they make for good movies, but in a real war most of the fighting is done by the Grunts as such I've had the same problem. Â Matter of fact on Soldier of Fortune, it was in no doubt in anybody's mind that it was US Army soldier, but it was labeled as a Marine in the 1/5 Regiment, unit, whatever. Â It's that basically the Marines have real good PR. Â They honestly got a few better commercials than the US Army, so while it's probably less than half of what the Army has, it's just got more combat elements, rather than what the US Army is, large but a small world. Then it's funny though you mention Army units operating in places like Fallujah and such, and people look at you like you're weird. Â Oh no, god forbid that the Marines are actually the minority in Iraq and Afghanistan. Â Considering they are actually part of, and get funding from the USN. prodetar2 0 Posted May 20, 2006 like i said up to you with the sky packs and what the .bin file? hmm srry i meant a bin MAP with cpbo in it not c.pbo but cpbo
EricJ 765 Posted May 20, 2006 on topic again And then what man? Look get some common sense. Warfare is about politics. So you think for a second that maybe while okay, it's "off topic", it adds atmosphere to any campaign, mission, etc. So you figure instead of some lame briefing, it can be enriched by knowledge, and as large as FFUR 2006, you think maybe including some stuff in it might be an added bonus. Not only does it have alot of addons, but god forbid, background stories for some mission. Besides you're 15 years old and have no real world experience in life, those of us do like to share those experiences. Besides we all know how awry politics topics go, so we're managing it ourselves. Besides Placebo (or any moderator) knows what to look for, let them do their jobs, you're not a moderator, so just leave it alone.
echo1 0 Posted May 20, 2006 All that aside, I wouldnt mind a few USMC elements in the mod, its not as if in one theatre of warfare you have just the Army. In my config I have the G36 and Steyr Soldiers replaced with USMC troops with M16s so that in Red Hammer and single missions you can have some USMC presence
Blackbuck 9 Posted May 20, 2006 like i said up to you with the sky packs and what the .bin file? hmm srry i meant a bin MAP Â with cpbo in it not c.pbo but cpbo have you gotten it to work mate? @EricJ i'll pretend i didnt read that dont dare insult me, dont think because i'm 15 i dont know anything now just be quiet and just get on with what ever you do ok @CH_123 thats a good idea who needs to have a g36 and AUG with no apparent faction
