how big is the load on the cpu/ram with textures of that size?

Yes, they look very good. But could you maybe add the Resistance buildings and vegetation too? to replace the whole island

As mentioned, how does it handle performance wise? And if it isn't a texture pack, replacing other standard BIS stuff with objects like Berghoffs plant pack would be a great idea.

with my AtlonXP 2500@3200, 1gb ram. Radeon 9800se@pro I have insignificant performance hit (3-5fps) VBS1 use textures in 2048x2048 too, without any problems…It was tested on some other PCs, performance hit was minimal…

I’d like to create a new vegetation & buildings but I havn’t time for it, btw I have made a new grass addon and I have try to retexture some trees & maybe I’ll release it later like optional addon. I don’t want to use Berghoffs nature pack to replace original malden’s trees, because the vegetation in this pack is not corresponding to Malden’s atmosphere. We have try all to keep it, our textures have almost same colors & structure as original textures(except some of them, like send texture, which was changed for one with more "realistic" color). Also all textures have no lines of junctions between it & as you can see we have use another (not usual “smoothâ€) way to make a transitions between different type of textures…I hope you will like it !!!

I would like if it could be used has an addon island though, im a bit concerned about overwriting the original game content .

Im fine with the original buildings and vegetation, Nogova's doesnt look good on Malden imo.

Just looked at the texture video, and I must say that those textures are really stunning. The gras transitions are excellent, its very atmospheric (as seen at the base gras-concrete). And the look of those textures walking as well as flying seem just right

All right, don't worry guys, we are workin hard on the last few textures remaining, I think it would take one or two days more...

Then we'll have to to make the final test ingame (we already corrected almost all of the bugs so it shouldn't take so long!

Then we'll have to make the two packs:

one with 2048pixels textures (510mB) for computers with at least 1gB of ram.(not necessary but better to play with high details)

one with 1024pixels textures (128mB) for computers with less than 1gB of ram.

So if everything works fine (and it would!, we hope to release the packs this weekend or at worst, the next week.
