OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted July 30, 2005 Hi everyone, maybe some of you knows Anjou 1939-44 which I released a year ago. BIS Forum Anjou 1939-44 Thread Anjou 1939-44 represent a part of France in the 1940ties, with the intention to create and play WWII missions (but also very good for modern and Napoleonic missions). As I designed Anjou 1939-44 before as a complete "inner part" of France, I listened to comments of the community which asked for more custom made stuff, a coastline and some more special things. I hope it will give you more ideas and fun for missions. Also some new great addons helped a lot to improve Anjou .... As it takes a lot of work and time making islands, it also needs long time till I could add some of the wishes. But what´s new in Anjou ? All in all I keep the old part, but added new areas. You will find now bigger villages in the north, an industrial center, Rail Roads and a coastline. To the east you will find alpine area, with all the stuff you need, mountains, small sneaky alpine roads, Pass roads etc... Look on the picture. You might get a first impression. Hopefully I can release it very soon and you like it. Cheers, OFP_PUPSI

deathsai 0 Posted July 31, 2005 I remember that the old Anjou was small, but pretty fun for forest fights. This, though...it looks like Anjou on steroids! Do finish it, even though it is in France, I'd love to have some forest fights between Soviets and Germans from Lib.

OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted August 15, 2005 Some update on Anjou ... So far everything is working quite smooth and I am in the last period of correction and editing some last stuff. But I don´t know exactly when I will release it. Here some updates: I improved the airport a bit, best is take yourself a look on the screenies: You will also get kind of garrison for your troops. Everything is build up in field ... so no concrete buildings: Business in City: I have to test the style of the city if AI can handle it too, but I think it looks quite nice. If you want to check some more news have a look on the WWIIEC page WWIIEC There is also forum thread for Anjou news WWIIEC Forum Cheers, OFP_PUPSI
.pablo. 0 Posted August 15, 2005 amazing pics (i love the one of the huge town), but is it realistic to have metal baracken buildings for a 1940's setting?
OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted August 15, 2005 @ pablo: I don´t know if metal baracks are realistic. Indeed wooden baracks would be better, but there aren´t any addons out. So I have to use whats out.

mr reality 0 Posted August 15, 2005 I'm not 100% sure but when i served in the forces we stayed in a camp which i believe was built around the late 40s early 50s and they were identical shape to the ones used in your island also they were made of corrigated tin so i would say they fit perfectly. OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted August 15, 2005 After addons by my WWIIEC colleagues are finished, I will add it to Anjou. But it needs also some time to implement them in Anjou. But I am sure with this new addons it will have a real WWII French atmosphere. You could see allready in the city picture a new caffee house made by Jagy (WWIIEC). Metalmalte 0 Posted August 16, 2005 how many fps do you get on the island while playing?
OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted August 16, 2005 I tested the island in two modus: a) Just me alone on island: This gives around 30-40 fps, sometimes more b) Using LIB-Mod: 6 Groups German Inf.+ 4 Tanks and 6 Groups Russian Inf. + 4 Tanks in a Battle: This gives around 15 - 20 fps I tested the fps rate with FRAPS. My computer spec Pentium 4, 3,2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Geforce5700 From my view the frame rate improved compared to Anjou 2.0. I removed the wheat and mais addon. It was good looking, but eats a lot of resources (and on the other hand AI could even see you in the fields, so looked nice but useless). All in all, I think it´s now quite lag free. Parker 0 Posted August 18, 2005 We already have missions in the work for OFP_PUPSI's beautiful island. Expect a cooperative offensive against the Nazi occupied region of Anjou based around interlaced missions of I44's 82nd Airborne and our own US Army Pack. And for you mission designers, the island still gets awesome FPS even under a full mission scenario.
OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted August 28, 2005 I want to give a little update on progress of Anjou. I attache here a map of Anjou. Even you can´t really see on this map details, to those ones who knows Anjou 2.0, you will realize that Anjou gets a lot "bigger" now. And to all the player don´t know old size of Anjou, the total playable land area is now about 78 km˛. At the moment the island is in Test progress, to find out bugs and all that stuff. Hopefully finished soon.
Wa_Va_Voom 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Ahh that looks cool . . . but it seems very anti-tank country which is good therefore its paratrooper country :P and you dont need to worry about regiments of panzer formations
OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Ahh that looks cool . . . but it seems very anti-tank country which is good therefore its paratrooper country :P and you dont need to worry about regiments of panzer formations Yeah, it is not made for tank battle. My idea was to make a map for combined battles, so infantery and tanks. It´s hard to survive in a tank, becaue AT soldier could be on every corner, and they are hard to spot out. But, even there is a lot of forrest, tank commander will also find enough "open space" for some smaller tank battle. But at least you are right: This is Infantery, paratrooper, sniper island. Good to play with WWII units .... but also modern and it´s fun to play with the napoleonic and civil war addons.
-HUNTER- 1 Posted August 29, 2005 Whoaah I will definatly be using tanks and AT guns! This map was allready looking really nice but now its getting out of control. Now Ill be playing and ducking under meh desk when I hear explosions because the map looks real! The world looked so different and soo much calmer before WWII! Nice work! keep it up, Ill be downloading this for sure! Too bad enemy can spot you when your in a field... How can they do that, If I remember correctly with the BIS trees and grass they couldnt see you when your inside a tree for instance, cant this also be made for the corn fields and such... also maybee something like a bunker position in or under a normal house? Like a place where you could set up a AT gun, use some camoflage, and your done...
