Sorry.The question i seek is 'would you support addonmakers to create more addons for ofp' and to an extent showing it in more tangible ( able to see and feel) forms. i didnt have a question, i had an answer Whilst donations may stop people from creating more M4 addons, they wont stop people putting in more time than they want. The time that people start putting in long hours to get some donation money will be a very sad day for OFP That and the addons have to be of substantial quality, and not just rushed out after a few days work. If any of you trawl through some Mod forums or fan/addon flashpoint related forums, you'll see loads of comments from eager fans. Many ive came across saying "cool addon i cant wait, i'd pay for this release no problem". If only that was true instead of jesting words of appreciation. The mods would be raking in the cash. All would be happy. But if Falklands Mod come out and say we've burned out copies for release with a magazine of their final MOD, how many of us would buy the mag for the CD instead of downloading. All self-respecting addonmakers that I know, and I can safely say I know many would never take a penny. U wanna get payed? Fine with me, I know RHS isnt gonna beg for money, but if u do then by all means, I would love to see how many ppl would actually pay. Here's where i would donate some dough though... If a mod group was actually working on a very large mod and they said "we are spending some serious money on textures or whatever here to make something really special...could you help us out with a few bucks?" "That", I might throw some cash at just to be a nice guy and help out. Placebo 29 Posted June 20, 2005 Whilst the original topic was probably an area best not explored on the official BIS forums I let it go as it seemed to be an open and honest debate about an issue which a respected addon maker felt needed discussion, now that it has ended up where it ended up clearly the decision to allow it to stand was wrong. I think that in light of this thread and the other recent thread the simple solution must be, discussion of money and addons, financial reward and addons, personal gain of a monetary value and addons should not be undertaken on the official BIS forums.
