In support of the pacific war mod, here is a japanese destroyer to get things moving.

Plug and play type, moving and fully auto with full geolod

For more details, please see the readme attached.

Weapons:-

4 X 25mm AA guns - auto fire at anything within sight

3 X 5"/50 calibre medium gun/cannon - will auto fire on shore and low waterline targets.

3 X Type 93 "Long Lance" torpedo 4/set - automode

Comes with a custom IJN ship officer found under east>men> PC ship officer.

All turrets are outside the boat when i load it up . It says its missing the script transport.sqs

I'm assuming you want a mirror, as your host is temporary. If you do not, however, please PM me - no hard feelings.

I have tried it out and it's fine... pretty sure it wasn't released with a major bug.

EDIT: To make sure your version is uncorrupted, the MD5 hash sum is "edd9e7f3bb8939f81131c7b886001ff4". Compare it to your version to insure data integrity.

EDIT: Updated download and MD5 hash. Above info is correct.

Thanks Reven. Anyone else have this error? cos its the exact copy i have and play ingame....my ofp is version 1.96

Edit:- Demonclaw, i have just uploaded a new zip, can u update me on the status?

Reven, the error was mine cos i used some of the hidden textures and scripts file from the russian destroyer, coupled with an error from senditcom. Please update with the new zip either in this post or the 1st. Tks.

It would be nice if the turrets were destroyed together with the ship . The AA guns stills fires when they are under the water smile_o.gif

it tries to shoot torpedoes at planes and didnt shoot torpedoes at targetship1 :|

also, maybe setting a larger reload time for them would do wonders.

But the destroyer looks interesting, Ill take a look at it later when I have time too. But from what I see, it looks good, Gj Phil.

Thanks for the feedback, it would be crucial as i do want to improve seaborne warfare in ofp and there's nothing in the ofp1 or vbs world for me to compare to except the real world.

Turrents still shooting when dead:- needs to be improve even though i gave it an armour of 400 and the ship due to size of 2000. Theoratically once the ship is down, turrents should have long be dead before it due to indirect fire - seems theory is wrong.

Torpedo:- needs to improve on the gunnner to shoot at only the targets preconfigured, even though i had set the config as 0 for air targets. Longer reload time may be a way to create illusion but i think there's gotta be a way to script the gunners do it without lag, cos i tried it once and the ship lag, so i had to unscript the turret gunners.

GeoLod:- even though i had broken the 50m geo limits as this ship is 140m long, but because it is a moving platform, geolod behaves strangely for u need to place the ship at certain angles to achieve full geolod if u want to walk onboard ship. Wasted 43 models and 4 days just to test out the walking onboard. Would like to see others achieve it better than me. What i cant do, i am sure there will be others who can.

What do u guys think of the AAguns and cannons?

Is it too realistically powerful?

Do u think the graphics are enuff or anyone has better graphics of such ships with interior and exteriors?

Could u play a good game of stealing the ship and blasting out of a Japanese harbour?

ok i just tested this ship. and i cant kill it. i dont mean its a bug i mean i cant get near the sumbitch. hucks PT boats, corsairs, nothing can break its line of defense. once i did get the PT boats in close enough made 2 passes with 2 differnt bots firing 4 torpedos. she was "burning" but not sinking and was still able to fire upon me killing me on my extraction route.

corsair gets one pass then dead.

and no im not using the kilo sub or the a10 thats cheating. id prefer WWII battles be kept to WWII addons.

also you cant enter or "get in" the guns when they're empty.

other then that its quite nice.

Nice work Phil, loved the Russian destroyer and this one is great too. Are you going to make a US destroyer too? That would rock smile_o.gif

Thanks for the feedback. I was kinda hoping someone else would make the US side, considering the fact that we have many americans here and thought no one will make east side so i focused on that side.....

Currently toying with the isj-jin battleship, not sure if i can complete it and fixing up the current 2 ships i have...

Thanks pappy...same here, i placed 30 great AIA trenchfeet's spitfires with a hold waypoint beside the ship and darn AI shot EVERYONE of them down, with only losses to the topedo gun and cannon after 15mins. mad_o.gif

Philcommando, I would recommend that on the AA guns you use high dispersion ammo.  In my mod we use this type of ammo on our ZSU-23-2's in order to give helicopters some chance of survival against them...although our settings were a little too high...in our upcoming pack we're lowering the dispersion a bit just enough to allow helicopters to survive long enough to get a few shots off or to maneuver out of the way.

But at any rate, please experiment with high dispersion ammo and also PLEASE lower the armor because in real life, a couple of torpedoes or a few bombs should sink her down to the bottom.

i got 2 german subs. the one you speak of and one from CSJ/scud

and aside from the germans and japs were on the same side... neither subs have torpedos in game.

Hi,

I run through your addon. It is really good! So only some small suggestions:

The guns have a problem with the fire geo lod, selection window. There are 7 Components listed and some other stuff, but no entry correspont to the box defined in the fire geo lod. So the guns couldn't be hit. Deleting everything except Component01 and redefining it with the box will solve this. Proxy of the gunner might or might not be included.

About an other thing I am not sure. You use in your transport script a command to camcreate a soldier. You call it MIKE10 for example. Doing this MIKE10 is now a global variable (???), this means, using two or more of your ships within a mission will kill the crew except the driver of all ships except the last one defined. Maybe creating new names by adding the string of the shipclass will solve this "akatsuki.01.mike10"...

For the guns and AA a dispersion factor might be good to let planes and other vehicles survive.

The torpedoes are looking like being a little bit to high above the ground. (see next)

Last one is a more sophisticated one and not a bug. The ship is called Akatsuki, and the main weapon configuration correspont with the Akatsuki class, but the main guns itself and all elements of the deck structure are more looking like DD Sukutsuki-Class. This doesn't really count, but using the superstructure of the last DD means not enough space on the deck to place the torpedoes on a lower level (area of the main chimney).
