New island Freya

Can I get a map reference for the fourth picture from above in the left side of the picturepic tounge_o.gif

The one with a bridge going over a smaller road

especially the zodiac

In the first pic, the plane is Fiesler Fi 156 "Storch". Often called as flying jeep, had a top speed of around 200km/h, could carry 3 personnel and was reliable and easy to fly. If the wind is big enough, it can fly backwards (or so I've read). Sorry no d/l link.

In the last pic, the car is Orcs Moskvich 2137 "Universal.

Nice island, BTW.

Does anyone know to which mod that An-2 belongs to?

I agree with others. This is a FANTASTIC island!

I love the overpasses and mountains. I just wish there were more roads that actually went up into the mountains.

But other then that I love also how it is all self-contained and easy to just stick into the addons directory and use.

Thanks, that is the same thing I thought but since it had (East?) German markings on it I wasn't sure. I have to agree with you all, most islands come and go but this one is staying in my Addons folder for some time to come. biggrin_o.gif

this island is on up there with trinity and avigron (sp)... good work! i was a bit dissapointed at first, seeing as i accidentally opened up the reduced-object version. i thought to myself, my God, these towns are all the same, how can so many people love this MAP! ...Then I looked at the name of the map I was in =) GREAT map.

great island, i just love it, got some nice small medium sized bases also so i have started to work on a big time spec ops mission, so far i use Jam weapons pack and keg and mapfact editor addons  smile_o.gif  i haven't decided if i should go with marine force recon or hyk airborne troops  biggrin_o.gif  it will be a big long mission with lots of stuff. maybe even some nice east addons too  smile_o.gif thinking of making a team objective, where a group of east spetznas will have to go and find the spec ops and the spec ops got a long list of objectives that can change during the mission tounge_o.gif

Nope i think these guys might of been the reason it was closed that day  tounge_o.gif . Trust my luck to be 40th in line, it was not a nice experiance ghostface.gif. It deffinatly brought back memorys of OP Grand Prix in kenya at the Sportsmans bar/brothel  biggrin_o.gif

This island too beautiful to fight a war on.

forest training, MOUT training, planes can pull off some tricks, loads of space for choppers to land...

I hope the next version will include some custom made grass, to fill up some of the barren lands... (offcourse you'll include the grass addon in the PBO).

oh, and smoothen out some edges, that's the only "bad" thing about it biggrin_o.gif

Something that I forgot:

I built the island, particularly the roads, on Terrain detail "Normal".

Thus "Normal" is the best choice for this island.

If a map is running on a dedicated server with a different setting you can force the server (for this mission) to "normal" by inserting the following entry to the missions ini.sqs:

setTerrainGrid 25

im making a coop mission on this island and with the great scripts and all the mission will get really difficult and demand loads of skill and team work and maybe a bit of luck to pull off biggrin_o.gif

this island is really fantastic to play on and got some great landscape on it. A harbor or 2 would have been top notch to have tounge_o.gif but i give this island 98% in rating unclesam.gif

ok i ported over a MFCTI 1.16 on this island

I've found a little bug.

On the island the AI can often see through many of the hills, which causes tanks to see enemy tanks that are on the other sides of hills, as much as 2000m away. I put 4 LLW Leopard 2A6 tanks on guard in the east, not far from Elivagar. Not much later I fly around the island and notice they have driven themselves on their own initiative to Asgard, and eliminated 8 T80's there. wow_o.gif

And anims would be nice.

Aside from that, again, great island! I have made three big missions on it. I just love the island, good atmosphere.

Well i love this island and i hate it as well!

The first thing you should do is make the normal freya lag less

Couse if you wanna make some big missions it lags on normal freya but freya cti has small cityes.

I would sugest that you do an update to this island and make the normal freya have smaller cityes and reduce the number of objects.
