They are not happy with the XM8 , i have doubts it is has bad has people post around, seemed suspicious for me, the u.s. military adopting a weapon from another country's manufacturer . HK's version was a huge improvment over the current M4's it could be fired underwater; droped in mud, sand, and go with out cleaning for over 5,000 rounds. lol no suprize, Colt told HK to get rid of it or they would sue them AHAHAHAHA Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

[mg]http://img209.exs.cx/img209/322/xm82ndgeneration8sc.jpg[/mg] That's right, it's 2nd generation of XM8 I think its a fine looking rifle, and not only based on the looks but the design seems great too in terms of handling and manueverability, the old G36 looked a bit "clumsy" to handle. Handling wise it must be much better than the M16/M4 series, reliability and performance wise i dont know but if defects and problems are found in prototypes im sure they can be changed and improved, it looks much better than the old prototype too, i think a good weapon could and will come out of this one . All of the new prototypes being tested for use in the US military are designated ACR erm no its called OICW actualy not ACR, ACR was a demo of guns trying to see if it was posible to athive a 100% higher first round hit problerbility over M16A2, the waepons was not to be selected as the M16A2 was only five year old in the US Army back then(1989-90). competitors for Xm8 could be: Colt M5? prototype no more direct gas system. Leiter wise(M4A1): LW 5.56K-P/MRS state of the art AR15 FN SCAR: maby don't think so its still a prototype, and problery cost alot since special forces are willing to pay more. Heatseaker: how can you say handling will be better than M16, M16 has superior handling to G36, XM8, SCAR, G3, MP5 and moste other weapons platforms.
