DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 13, 2005 I'd love to do updates for our previous addons, but I don't have the knowledge of anything scripting, so that would be near impossible for me to do. Perhaps at another date. I'll be posting some more pictures of the desert version of the ADATs soon.
DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 16, 2005 ADATS Desert picture Quick update. After talking to Rudedog of Combat!, they kindly agreed to let me use the Tracks and wheels off the M113 pack. Also, the Radar dish is receiving a remodel. The green parts will be updated. Can't show pics with grey bits in. Nice thing about the desert version is it shows up all the stickers and signs that don't stand out to well in pics of the Woodland one, I went to great lengths to find the correct wording of all the labels I could see on the vehicle. If there are any I have missed, I would appreiciate someone to point them out so I can fix them ASAP.

DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 16, 2005 For now, just me. Updates are really not a top priority, as the addons at least work Anyone know any good russian translator sites?

DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 16, 2005 I still say I can't Combat! very kindly gave me their tracks. The model also received a slight tweaking. http://jaguar.gotf.net/AdatsNT1.jpg http://jaguar.gotf.net/AdatsNT2.jpg http://jaguar.gotf.net/AdatsNT3.jpg http://jaguar.gotf.net/AdatsNT4.jpg http://jaguar.gotf.net/AdatsNT8.jpg http://jaguar.gotf.net/AdatsNT9.jpg Huge picture. Thanks Combat! Hope I put them to good use. Thanks Fallchild, at least now I know the comments on Flashponit.ru were negative.
grunt249 0 Posted March 17, 2005 Thanks Fallchild, at least now I know the comments on Flashponit.ru were negative. Eh? What's this? Did someone say "Negative Comment"?  These pictures are looking awesome Jaguar, expert quality. You have people drooling just waiting for the release  I loved the original ADATS, was quite fun to play with and had some good use. And it was good quality being that it was one of your first addons ever made. But this new one....WOW! The quality is superior, features list is amazing, and those screen shots are giving me anxiety attacks  Keep up the great work Jaguar, and don't let some poor slob's negative comments spoil your mood. 98% of the OFP community is going to love this addon, so for the other 2%... Just one last thing, a little off topic maybe, but I'm sure many will find it interesting. Check out this link for some great photos of the real thing. And to anyone who doubts this addon or has complaints, these photos are just a small bit of proof that Jaguar's work is accurate and detailed.
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted March 17, 2005 For a guy who can't make good textures this looks quite good In fact it's bloody awesome man!!! Keep it up!
DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 17, 2005 Thanks for the kind comments, that site was one I had seen, but there's some innacuracies: the US 3-tone European cammo painted vehicle for example, plus the vehicle at the top has the smoke launchers missing, which led to some mistakes when I first started the project. My news is: the texturing for the ADATS and the model are 99% complete (just waiting on a few details from other people) so no new pictures until it's finished (or close ). However, I can't even think about releasing it until the scripting is complete. The people who will do this are currently busy with other projects, so no real progress can be made on the project. Here's a possible good point: in the meantime I've decided to work on another SAM project. Currently, after making sure no other team is making one, I'm looking at the BAE Tracked Rapier and the Chaparral SAM. Both are based on the M113 chassis, or the M548 Cargo carrier. I would like opinions on which people would prefer. My personal choice is the Rapier, and I think the Chaparral is being made by another team, can't remember which. Plus it's damn ugly . Either of these would be released much faster than the ADATS, because they are more straight forward in their features, with little scripting required. Another point: I'm looking at getting a DKM site back up. Tracked Rapier: Chaparral:
Ironsight 1 Posted March 17, 2005 Do both The Chapperal has my personal favour. I am suprised it hasn't been made yet
Desert-Rat 0 Posted March 17, 2005 Thats nice i look at the work from DKM since the first Addons for Ofp were released. I was happy that someone make the Rah66 Comanche and the ADATS The Chapperal has the Chassis from an MLRS or not? looks much after it I find DKM Mod is making good Stuff!! Keep it up! BlackScorpion 0 Posted March 17, 2005 No, Chapparel is based on M113 chassis and the other is based on M548 Cargo Carrier. MLRS is based on Bradley.
Desert-Rat 0 Posted March 17, 2005 hm? on Bradley? the Bradley is an APC and the MLRS have an complete other chassis?
stevevcb 3 Posted March 17, 2005 I think you'll find the MLRS is based on the Bradley chassis. Just a different hull.
BlackScorpion 0 Posted March 17, 2005 Quote[/b] ]The MLRS M270 Launcher, a derivative of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) Yeah. Look at the tracks, and the 'lil bump (something to do with the gear system) in the lower front... Look at the basis. Tracks.
dabitup 0 Posted March 17, 2005 good work on the ADATS! And I look forward to the Rapier/Chapparel!
DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 17, 2005 I'm still not sure which to make first. Demand seems to be for the Chaparral (but I'm SURE I heard either Combat! or BAS were making one) but then, the Rapier is very unique and also British, which is always a plus I also feel it will compiment the work of other teams making British addons, without overlapping onto their work. Either way, I'll probably end up making both.
Messiah 2 Posted March 17, 2005 I also feel it will compiment the work of other teams making British addons, without overlapping onto their work. well... we're not making the tracked rapier if you weren't sure - lovely piece of kit, saw one piggy backed on a scammel on the M1 once... missiles in place and all would compliment our stuff very nicely, as i'm sure you would make an excellent job of it as you have with the ADATS... one question though... if you were to make a tracked rapier, would you consider possibly stripping it down and making the portable rapier? or the older just seeing as you may be able to use similiar parts etc... DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 17, 2005 Ah that's a releif, I'm looking forward to doing a British addon... it's one of the reasons I've decided not to update the UK pack, as I couldn't do it properly, and my texturing style is completely different from Carnage's so if I did any alterations it'd stick out a mile. Also it was Carnage's project so I don't really want to mess with his work. I think I'll stick to my SAMs I will do the new version of the static rapier, despite the model on the Tracked one being of the old type (which is being made in a static form by another team). I'm not 100% sure the tracked Rapier is still in service, but I do hope I'm mistaken. I've done some searching of the forums, looks like AngusHeaf was planning on doing a Chaparral, so I'll have to try to get in contact with him to see if he plans on completing it. I've not heard anything and the last post was '03 so who knows. His textures where said to be Marfy quality though, so it'd be good. Looks like I'm doing the Rapier first. DeLiltMon 0 Posted March 17, 2005 I don't think the tracked rapier is in service anymore, but it would still make a good addition to OFP Apparently the Army rejected the design and they were instead all built to be exported to the Shah of Iran, they were put into long-term storage in a BAe hanger at Filton Airport in Bristol until the Army bought them up cheap. I've got some exterior pics I took of one at Bovington if you want them.
DKM Jaguar 0 Posted March 17, 2005 That would be great, Google's not coming up with much of any use. Especially the shape of the front of the cab.
stevevcb 3 Posted March 17, 2005 Didn't they call the tracked Rapier something like Jernas when they tried flogging it? Can't have enough British kit though
