ok, it works fine, now if offtime would fix the lods of the can it would be completed,

btw. would it be possible to get a different effect if you let it detonate in the water? so that you get a water effect there, where the water is not so deep of course, and the normal effect on land?

In wather? Convoys don't cross rivers in Iraq.

And if you placed one of this things in the wather wouldn't it get... wet?

I can't think of a mission where that would be acctually needed. Plus have you ever heard of such a cose?

As for the lod: I know that you would like it, yet iI don't think it's needed for such a small object. Players will try not to come too close. That's not a bug - for me at least.

Don't think 'bout such things. Just enjoy it as it is!

disarmed ieds (1 & 3) blow up anyway when destroyed (shooting at them is not good idea, all tho they are disarmed)

cell phone ieds are waiting for Panda to add few lines in scripts

after that we will release updated version.

pbo name includes even string "iraq" not "nam" wink_o.gif

Excellent addon, has worked out well and I look forward to using it in future missions. biggrin_o.gif

One suggestion though, in regards to the last version posted for download via Panda. Please ensure you put your contact info in the readme file. It mentioned to contact you with questions or suggestions, etc. but there was nothing further such as email address or messenger ID. Probably just forgot, but I wanted to point it out just in case. wink_o.gif

Keep up the great work, and thanks to everyone involved. I look forward to seeing more in the future, and I think a lot more kinds of IED's and UXO's would make an awesome pack for later release.

Thanks.

A new version available now.

Fixes made according to Offtime's suggestions.

Additionally it's now arranged so, that for all IED-s you just need one script to set the timer:

[this,7,31]exec"IED.sqs"

Into the init field.

You should also be able to detonate IED-s 2&4 as time bombs using this script (you don't have to put the groups then).

The mines do detonate even if you don't activate any scripts - if they take enought dammage. The disarmed mines also can detonate if you treat them badly - so BEWARE.

Quote[/b] ]but hey maybe we will make also some nam traps in future
Did you all noticed this "we". Yes we did talked about some of Offtime's ideas and you might expect some cute models and fancy scripts soon. We're just gettin' started.

Tahanks to everyone for spiritual support we recived.

Also thanks for testing the beta release, I really was to tired to doo it myself. Thanks for suggestions - both the ones used and the ones that we did not find applicable.

Quote[/b] ]§5)No posting of explicit images

No posting of pictures containing porn, real killing, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit images. This also includes links to pages that contain such images. There have been a number of incidents where people have linked to news sites which unbeknownst to them contains obscene images a few mouse clicks away, while we can't expect people to check every link on a site it is strongly suggested that whenever making a post about a news item the post is structured in a way that provides the information without risk of breaching the rules. A good example of how to do this can be seen below. If you're ever unsure as to whether or not a link should be posted on the forum feel free to PM a moderator for guidance.

Well then don't, dude. Like many mods have said before, leave the moderating for the mods. Thats why there's a 'report this post to moderator' button.

On another note, those smoke effects like purrty.

A friendly forum member pointing out someone's mistake is often the difference between them receiving a perm ban and a warning smile_o.gif

Koenig you're fairly new here so I would strongly suggest you sit and read the forum rules carefully, posting links to such sites is a very serious rule violation, be grateful someone was watching your back smile_o.gif

this addon at first was just few static models for missionmakers, then thanks to Panda it become fully functional with fancy effects addon.

i never planed to spend on it so much time when i have other more important projects, and thats why i will not work on it in near future any more, maybe Panda will but thats his call.

basicly like we wrote in readme, its open source addon so anyone who wants can rego it, improve it, do whatever whoever wants.

thanks guys for your help and usefoul thoughts

best way to show us that we didnt spend time for nothing will be posting missions that use this addon ;-)

Great addon - just been using it in an opfor mission for the V3 Cat Afghanistan I'm working on. The proximity IED (IED4) is great when used under a parked civvy truck.

Thanks guys  - my only comment is that the dust is a bit too bright yellow compared to the terrain I'm using it on - but it's not a complaint - just a comment.

Glad you've mentioned. You can set the colour whatever you want - open the explosion script (see config.cpp for the right one) and edit theese lines:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">;###colors of clouds RGB format

_color0L = [214,185,121,0]

_color1L = [208,175,100,1]

_color2L = [184,166,92,0]

the colors are in format [R,G,B,Transparency]

there are three colors, because the "shockwave" clouds change their colour in time, for the elevated dust only the middle one is used, and some variation is added to make the clouds look more 3D. biggrin_o.gif

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">_rcol=100

This controls the variability of colour - some clouds are brightened, if you want you can decrese it.

So just open Paint, set a colour, read the RGB and input there.

The variation is + something, so the colour will be a bit brighter. If you're using Dxdll better disable it, as it can change the colours radically.

If you have any problem contact me via PM and I'll gladly help.

I can't wait to see how it will look ina a real mission.

Don't forget to add an adress when you're done. smile_o.gif

thx for the quick response - i'll tweak the settings to get it as close as I can to the Cat Afghan terrain with some dirty dust - just take a look at any real IED initiations on video to see what I mean.

Once I get something I'm happy with I'll post my settings back here.

OK. Since it's only enough to include new config and scripts in new file I can make an additional addon - I'll just leave the values to you. Fine? It's a small file, since no models or textures need to be included (just new declarations and modiffied scripts).

The readme contains instructions on how to modiffy the file if anyone else wants their own collors, so that it won't "bite" with any other version. This is in case anyone else wanted a custom collor for their campaigns.

Anyway Happy Easter and best of luck to everyone.

Edit> This version contained an error, but it's already fixed. Rats send me his non-working version, I've corrected my mistake and his version should be working now. If you too need custom colours for your campaign the readme version I've sent him contains instructions on how to modiffy.

After seeing you ieds i just had to make my own wink_o.gif  smile_o.gif . I only have 2 for right now. The both have custom explosion sounds, custom pictures, and custom sounds when you set them. They are not like your where they blow up at a certain time of day they are like satchel charges. Though I dont have fancy custom explosions like you  sad_o.gif ...yet.
