I made tank addon "TO8A2 Arachnida".

This tank appears in the movie : "Ghost in the shell".

Features :

Player & AI can use Stealth Camouflage.

"Stealth Mode" command works MPmission too !

Inovative addon,I love the Ghost in the Shell series.I've seen part yars ago and it hooked me up on Japanese manga animes.The second part macthed to it's prequel and was as entertaining.

Will you be making Kusanagi or any other characters and is this part of a mod or a single addon?

Very original idea , it should be a really great opposition to the high quality one scifi unit that the Wanzer is.

The "stealth" feature of this scifi tank is really impressive, i wonder how you made it working (with some of those set textures or hidden selections ?)

I haven't try make man addon,but I want to try it.

First, hiddenselection to ALL textures.(I named this selection "ALL")

Second, work script as init, setobjecttexture [0,"\TO8A2\TEX.paa"].

Last,added action menu.This action causes animation.

I used animationPhase.

All Lod uses only 1 textures.

So I succeeded "stealth".

Could you make it completly invisible, cuz that would be super... heheh nice for MP sneak up behind and launch serious missile attack from 10 mtrs...

Wow... very cool! I loved GITS (and the TV series too) and just last night I was talking to someone about making thermoptic camouflage (like what Kusanagi wears when she's naked ) in OFP.

I'm gonna download this when I get home!

just started ehm... "waiting for" GITS , kinda sad that all "anime" they have in the netherlands is pokémon and cencored dragonball... people are really getting a wrong image of it.

I don't know if I like anime, but I do like some of it. I like GITS, Patlabor 1 & 2, Ninja Scroll... that may be it. I don't like fantasy and ultra sci-fi stuff. With GITS/Patlabor I can at least imagine these things existing in the near future. Ninja Scroll was just a good story.

Anyway, I'm excited to see this addon. I'm hoping someone might work on Thermoptic camo after this, or some of the other stuff from GITS and Patlabor (especially those in Patlabor 2!). It'd go great with my Battle Over Hokkaido stuff (as I already like their mechs!).

I find this mech really nice, A bit bald maybe, but if that's how it is.. I guess that's it.

Manhunter: if you mean if you cannot make out the mech against the background, think for s second . it's hard to spot a normal camo'd unit , so spotting a unit that you can partically see trough will be nearly impossible if it's standing between some trees...

isn't in the movie a scene where you see the intirior of it. hm I think just the pilot don't know.

At first i have to say nice addon

but i have found a bug which i have fixed already

Ai will shoot on your vehicle when its in stealth mode

try to add _car1 SetCaptive true to your Check.sqs

and AI wont fire on you.

Added 2 new options to your addon 1. One Eventhandler for "fired"

which will execute a new script like this

_car1 = _this select 0

#start

_car1 setobjecttexture [0,"\TO8A2\TEX.paa"]

_car1 animate["canopy" ,0]

exit

and 2. the setcaptive option for _stealth = 1 and _stealth = 0

Its working perfectly in mission editor the damn T80 is ignoring me and when i shoot he will shoot too.

Next step for me is a trigger which will activate the stealth function in game when reaching a specific area (Stealth generator for C&C Tiberian Sun mod)

would be nice when you can help me with that to include it into the CNC project CTI

i think that Rezin,(the guy who made those awesome pilots, and the ROK stuff, i think) made some other ghost in the shell addons, another kind of blue spidery looking robo-tank and a couple of submachineguns
