Or how avout a bulseye target that tells you which zone your hitting in?

This one will do that and the zones (rings) that are hit will change colors.

Its there a way to make a target that moves to the sides? for the sniper range would be great.

Also, it would be interesting to have positive targets and negative targets. Positive targets would give you points as you hitting an suposed enemy, a negative target would take points from the score, as it would be a friendly or civilian.

This would work if the targets were the pop up type of targets, so to test the shooters reaction and acurancy on firing under pressure. The tragets could stay there for a cuple of seconds and then fall back, if the shooter don't hit them or don't see them they will not count or take points from the score.

Going by that you could make game targets, like the spiral tipe, or different games. Some examples below

It would be an elite addon that I would use for sure!

Also nice for some target practice, maybee you could make a small CQB/MOUT course? with targets in windows...

Too bad you cannot see bullet holes... biggrin_o.gif

Yeh man that is my plan for a sniper range. I am thinking I,ll do some static targets, some "running" targets, mixed with some popups. All shot from say a 20 or 30 meter high tower (well thats the way they did it at my post) with a rangeof about 1000 or 1200 meters.

I have pondered that. like doing house clearing. Which would be alot easyer with targets and not AI soldiers. But that is a very lengthy ordeal and I would not contemplate it without some help.

Well you could. But the ammount of indavidual target sections that would need to be made for 1 target too work would be enormouse. So for now its just goiung to be "regional"

This is the color change texture for the ring target.

When a particular ring gets hit like say the #1 ring. it and only it will change from black to yellow. Unfortunatly as it is now the whole #1 ring chnges and not the quarter portion.

if your ever gonna do any target competitions, you should email Col. Klink and ask how to use DIB on targets (so we can actually see where it was hit)

This addon would rock with DIB.

Since AKK PM'd me a day or so ago I've been experimenting to see the best way to implement targets using a version of DIB.

OK yawl I have the ring target in game and functional (short of scripts).

Seems that before I start heavy scripts I need to hear what people think would be appropriate range distances.

As of now I was thinking of this option. 25m,100m,300,500,1000,

When you get to the shooting position(an addon) you will have these option in your action menu. prob displayed like "place 25m Target" ASO.

yawl have any different ideas for distance.

**Note**

This is not the sniper range, although it can surely be used as acuracy target practice for snipers. But I intend to move to the sniper range after this is at full beta.

This addon will more than likely be for addon makers to test sctual hit groupings of new rifles and pistols (thus the 25meter selection).

Also. Which would be better. A spotting scope as a weapon like the binoculars or as a vehicle like the static M2 MG

But sad_o.gif this bad oscar is gonna take some gnarly scripts to counter act all the different hit values that people are putt in thier CPP's.

If you working on a spoting scope it would be ok to have it as a weapon like the M2, make sure its zoomable biggrin_o.gif

But like I said a long time ago, I belive that binocular or a spoting scope made as a secondary weapon could work with all the new stuff and ideas that are around nowdays, they would need new animations, but I'm sure that by selecting the spoting scope from the players gear a script could get initialited to play the animations and remove the weapon animations.

About the target ranges, I wouldn't go any furder than 500 metres, anything ellse would be considered as rifle scope target, in my opinion, I wouldn't try to hit a target with a M16 that is 600 metres away, you'll have to be bloody good.

I think that for assault rifles we should really give it an average of 300 metres, but is been a long long time sense a fire one, so I don't know what is nowdays standarts.

Well like I said I am just curiouse about which would be most preffered. Either way I will make new anims for it.

As for the target ranges. bear in mind that this will be selectable in game.What I mean is you will have several options available depending on which type of weapon you are using and can choose "on the fly" while in the game what distance you want.

I will do this through the Class Useractions of the CPP. So I would like some feed back on what would be the best array of distances that would suite.

I had weapon config testing in mind when I started this target.

As I have been caught up in a couple other things this addon pack has lost some precedence. I had planned on just making it all one pack but I would like some outside input on weather or not this IS something people might want to use.

So wow_o.gif

I want to release the M16 qualifacation range. Its ready and works fine.

So anyone wanna host this. And if not oh well in the circular file this biaaatch will go ;)

On a side note this addon is not for crewserve weapons or sniper rifles.

But I have included a single popup target that when hit resets randomly between 0 and 5 seconds. so I reckon you could put a bunch of those babys out for those weapons

I think this looks like a decent addon, and should surely have some uses. You've got some people just looking to improve their accuracy or reaction time, some that are wishing to test others out (such as a Clan range), some that might like this for civilian ranges (such as the Real Life mods), and some that just want something to do while they take a break.

I think more screenshots and updated info about the addon will help to further boost the interest, you have anything like that at the moment? smile_o.gif
