sanctuary 19 Posted January 4, 2005 This video is really nicely done. Congratulations, it had certainly took a lot of time to build it considering the game used in the video does not play like this
ebns72 0 Posted January 4, 2005 Great movie! Was well directed I love AA All of it was taken in multiplayer, I know this because I don't think americas army allows scripting, and even if it did it would be a helluva lot easier just to do it in mp. Really makes me wish ofp had some of the ragdoll and top-notch animations from that game But great movie, AA can be pretty fun when it is organized.
r1c0cH3T 0 Posted January 4, 2005 What you see in the movie is definately squad play. If ANY clan played like that in AA, it would be an honor to join, even if it were a French clan. AA is intended to be a multiplay game, so AI play is rare (only in command prompt [spawn them] and the training missions). The hand signals that you see is built into the game, basically has not been edited much from the original video except for some audio. If you are refusing to play because the training is fustrating, I can supply you with ONE FULLY TRAINED account if you are really willing to play (I might not be able to do Sniper training because, well, lets just say I'm not that great with that particular qualification [need 36 or more targets shot in the Shooting Range] ). Keep in mind, I will not make a lot of them because I am doing all of them by hand, no hacks or anything of that nature. Oh, btw, whoever mentioned the lack of 'l33t' players: Punkbuster is moving in and you know what that means. Also, the non-hackers are taking charge by putting the Punkbuster Screen Shots to full use and banning hackers by the dozens, however I've been informed that there are ways around them. If you are planning to play, PLEASE DON'T HACK. People who actually want to play! Anybody actually play? My in-game name is {BDB}r1c0cH3T Honor: 36 (going on 37 honor soon). Silent N Deadly 0 Posted January 5, 2005 Wow, that is an amazing video. I can't believe they were able to use AA to film that. Simply amazing. Hats off to them. I however noticed that AA needs new walking animations...they look a bit awkward. And at one point the guy was "floting" while walking. Really great otherwise. IceFire 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I used to play all the time and always looked for coordinated teamwork centred gameplay. I went by SeatCushion. I no longer play video games so I don't play anymore.
IceFire 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I will say this. The potential for excellent realistic teamplay and real life tactics IS there in the real game, just as how you saw it in the video. Unfortunately it is VERY difficult to find fellow players who play with real CQB tactics and teamwork(unless you have the time for a clan). I have found players who ARE interested in true teamwork and we really kick ass as a team. For a short time I had joined a great clan who used teamwork. We used TeamSpeak to communicate during games. It was aweseome. We moved in formation, covered eachother, we sliced the pie, had our own slices of pie, and used a variety of different unit tactics. We would properly utilise sniper support, etc. The only bad thing about AA is the aiming system. When you are aiming using the sights, the sights are constantly moving up and down when you breathe. It's really stupid.

Well at least when your standing up.
IceFire 0 Posted January 5, 2005 Don't the sights move in real life when you breathe? Well at least when your standing up. Not the way it does in AA. Mostly it will waver a little bit if you are not steady, but it does not go up and down, up and down like does in AA.
Victor_S. 0 Posted January 5, 2005 no i think the way the sights move is fairly realistic. there are short pauses when you exhaul and inhaul(forgive spelling ) and I really liked the parts in the video when the camera was bobing with the soldiers as they ran. Oh and the reason they seem to be gliding is because of fraps. not every frame is being captured, It is very smooth ingame. I suggest you try it if you have not before and if you used to play they have come out with patches that have made it better. Its a relly fun game. I liked the video nice music. Silent N Deadly 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I wasn't talking about the FPS I was talking about that the soldier is higher then the ground as he is walking on 1/2 ft. of air. And I have AA...for a while. Well I don't have it installed at this very moment but I have tried and played with AA.
IceFire 0 Posted January 5, 2005 In real life your sights don't move up and down so noticeably like that. It sort of wavers. And you hold your breath for a second or 2 just when you fire. I normally take a few quick in and out breaths just before firing, then hold it when I want to pull the trigger. In AA there is no way to hold your breath. I don't know about you guys, but I practiced to fire when you have total sight control. You should be still, not moving.
r1c0cH3T 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I wasn't talking about the FPS I was talking about that the soldier is higher then the ground as he is walking on 1/2 ft. of air. And I have AA...for a while. Well I don't have it installed at this very moment but I have tried and played with AA. What version was that? Maybe they fixed it in the recent versions (latest 2.2.1). As for the breathing, you just have to time it right. If you were in enemy territory in an open or even closed space, wouldn't you be breathing hard? Also, it does "waver", just not as noticably as the breathing makes it look. Even if the developers did integrate an option like that, it would be rarely used. Besides, the keyboard is all clogged up with controls already.
Silent N Deadly 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I don't know what version I had but it would be nice if they made a feature that when you were going to shoot then you could hold your breath for a few seconds and then after you shoot you can release it. Then of course you would breathe harder for a few seconds.
ExtracTioN 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I asked them if the terrorist are AI but nope all human players they told me that there will come some other movies
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted January 5, 2005 I wish OFP played that realistically. Â You dont mean that serious do you?
Billabong81 0 Posted January 6, 2005 I wish OFP played that realistically. Â You dont mean that serious do you? Â lol I wish OFP played like AA in CQB. In open environments, OFP kicks ass, but it sucks in CQB. If you combined AA and OFP's open and CQB parts, it would make for the perfect game .
IceFire 0 Posted January 6, 2005 I wish OFP played that realistically. You dont mean that serious do you? Have you SEEN the film?
Silent N Deadly 0 Posted January 6, 2005 Have YOU thought that playing the game and watching a video is quite different. The video can be edited and adjusted to look much better then the game actually plays. EDIT- AA and OFP are two very different games. Like someone posted before, can AA have expansive enviroments like OFP? Just like OFP can't (quite yet ) have CQB like AA.

ExtracTioN 0 Posted January 6, 2005 I am sure BIS will make OFP2 so that we can have CQB too And that would be the ultimate war game ever time.
iNeo 0 Posted January 7, 2005 It's a very well-made movie, I liked the team movements and communication. Some fire fights were a bit longer than they usually are in AA, which is nice and realistic, sometimes I have long fire fights in AA and I love it, it draws out the tension and it makes it easier to think and act after tactics. Hehe it was funny when the RPG guy was shot and ended up hanging with his hand from the balcony and the French said "That don't make no sense at all" Nice video angles, shaking cameras, slow-mo, sound... really nice movie. redface 1 Posted February 10, 2005 I take liberty to point the way to another high quality movie, this time made by a Belgian Battlefield Clan made with Battlefield: Vietnam those guys are clearly aspiring to the Hollywood action genre and it clearly reveals how arcade the game is (choppers and units are very "twitchy" and rapid), but it's high quality video editing nevertheless I won't post a direct link, go to their site and download "The fallen one" (300 Mb., 15 minutes of .avi movie, a number of mirrors available) I have been told that some of the effects are not ingame. I'm not familiar (or in any way associated) with the game or the clan itself, but to me it shows that some leisure video editors could easily get nominated for a separate "game movie" Oscar category
T.S.C.Plage 0 Posted February 10, 2005 The AA-movie is really cool...must have been a massiv effort to produce this! And surely it's possible to capture movies during playing AA. I already did it myself with Fraps1.9. You just need an own server and have to turn off Punkbuster. As admin you're able to "fly" around the map to each spot you want to get the best camera-positions. But as mentioned the shown stuff surely needs a lot more...especially team-coordination! theavonlady 2 Posted February 10, 2005 MovieIt is based on Blackhawk Down movie but in French style quite beatifull movie  Don't know what was French about it, though it has that certain je nes sais qua. Very impressive movie-making, though super Hollywoody. Wishing and waiting for OFP to offer such quality QCB action.
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted February 10, 2005 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!! These guys must be kidding me... So many situations where at least 1 of the Delta force guys would have been dead... this is unrealistic. Quote[/b] ]"That don't make no sense at all" - I guess that says all there's to be said about this movie...Ah well... until OFP2 comes out, guess we'll have to make do with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and Xenus aka Boiling Point: Road to Hell...
