SpecOp9 0 Posted September 24, 2004 It was released for XBox PS2 and PC recently, or at least I'm pretty sure they released Xbox and PC versions. The game looks pretty cool, it got high reviews too from top web sites and magazines... Wondering if anybody picked this bad boy up yet? http://www.gamespot.com/xbox....mp_2to9
Gadger 0 Posted September 24, 2004 Yep, its fun in small bursts, but quickly gets repetitive. The multiplayer is pretty cool, gets boring pretty quickly, but I've almost finished all 3 sp campaigns, and only had the game for 2 days. Think BF1942 but star wars. shadow 6 Posted September 24, 2004 Guess I'll buy the newly released Star Wars trilogy dvd-pack instead then
der bastler 0 Posted September 24, 2004 Guess I'll buy the newly released Star Wars trilogy dvd-pack instead then Yes, seems to be a good bundle although I have them on VHS. And for battlefront, here's a replacement: http://www.ut2004troopers.com/
John C Flett 0 Posted September 24, 2004 I was curious because I like BF1942 for the odd single player blast but I've heard SWBF has really bad single player AI even by the standards of this genre. Hopefully a demo will come out soon and I can try it for myself. I'd kind of hoped for more because I believe its by Pandemic who did the really great Battlezone 2. Gollum1 0 Posted September 25, 2004 Played it, it's like BF42 but worse. At least BF looks half-decent and has good planes, even though it's two years older. SWBF has very simple models and levels, many interiors exactly like something out of Dark Forces 2. Well what do you expect, it's made for the PS2... The gameplay is exactly copied out of BF42, with different posts that you must capture and the goal of depleting the enemy's reinforcements (spawns). It feels very simple, unpolished, ugly, old and repetitive. On a side note, I bought the Star Wars DVD trilogy that came out a few days ago, finally, I was not disappointed. Balschoiw 0 Posted September 25, 2004 Puh..lucky me. Was in the store today to check out some new stuff. Ignored CM 2005 (lucky me) as I got David Burns already, had the SW Battlefront package in my hand and read the info on it, but it didn´t really felt "overwhelmed" so I put it back to shelve. Lucky me
havocsquad 0 Posted September 25, 2004 Maybe they'll do some major reworking of the game to add some original gameplay features to it. Don't hold your breath. Hey, some of you Star Wars fans are going to be slightly annoyed at the very end of Episode 6, Return of the Jedi in the Star Wars triology pack. They pulled out the older Anakin and put the crappy young Anakin in his place when Yoda and Obi Wan are beside Anakin. Personally I was disapointed George Lucas did this, it soured the last movie in the original triology.
soul_assassin 1750 Posted September 26, 2004 advantage: -support of latest DirectX technology and the shadows look gorgeous on vehicles disadvantage: -yes the AI seems quite stupid and no blaster can ever be better that an AK 74 :P
NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted September 27, 2004 I picked this one up the other day and have been playing it for a while now.Im liking this game.Compared to other Star Wars games. This one is great.I would get it if your into Star Wars games.
shadow 6 Posted September 27, 2004 Saw the game running in a store. It's BS1942 with stormtroopers. I bought the dvd-pack instead Have the VHS-pack, but its getting old and worn. Nice to see clear picture, but unfortunately, like any other Lucasfilm/THX release: way way way too much bass (even when amp set to THX-mode). Ah well, more entertaining than Battlefront. The movies made me install Jedi Academy again
mr burns 132 Posted September 27, 2004 meh.. i´d expected SWBF to be much  better, seeing our sisterpage developing really quickly and some nice scenes from ingame videos made me think that the game was actually fun. hearing that it´s just another BF clone makes me
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted September 27, 2004 I like starwars... but... a battle with less than 3000 players just doesnt create the right athmosphere. a battlefield in the jungle with hundreds of those a battle in the desert with lots of tribes of these and on the snow planet... there must be at least 2 full brigades on each side... otherwise the word .... "evil invasion" is just silly.
SpecOp9 0 Posted September 27, 2004 It really angers me that nobody ever included an Ewok as a playable character. Think of how cool that would be..
jakerod 254 Posted September 27, 2004 Im torn between buying either the DVD pack or the game. I hear the game is easy but I don't like to watch movies all that much anymore. Choices suck sometimes.
