Gun Flashlights

Great work!

Next, I would like to see lights in single rooms of houses which can be switched on and off.

Master Chief,  there is a problem however and I just want to make sure you are aware of it.

The Marines have the Flashlights on their guns I believe, but Master Chief does not (because you can use the Flashlight with any weapon)  I was wondering if the Flashlight location will be different from the two.

The Chief's light is on his armor.(Probably the helmet)

hey all, would anyone be up for sending me a sample on how to do this? and also wot needs to be changed in the weapon script. Also can this be used for handguns too? i would think so yeh. A .p3d file with the stuff that needs to be added would be nice :P

the light is NOT appleid to the weapon itself but to the soldier

and it didnt work with the direction of the head as far as i have tried

any idea?

a little question: why brother to stick it on head while you can place it front of your arm?

I tried that long ago, too, with the USCM soldiers. The circle of light was pointing anywhere but into the desired direction. The light itself looked rather ugly. Perhaps that's why BIS removed this feature from their soldiers in the final version.

Hope you got it right this time.

I even tried it on weapons. Memory points and textures and cpp entries...

Lights cannot be mounted to individual weapons. Period.

Lights can be mounted to every vehicle, i.e. men, cars, planes, tanks, bikes, boats. But weapons are another class. Sorry.

maybe i should send u the troops so u can check them?

MC has 1 on his armor (in the first mission in the beginning in COOP u can see it) AND theres a flashlight on every human weapon wich hes using instead of his armor light thingy when he carries it...

didnt check the cov weapons though.... rock.gif

I guess I should update this, but the position of the light on my addons is irrelevent to this post. I have fixed the problem where the light would sometimes not move with the soldier when the unit was standing still and aiming. It is really smooth now and works a lot better, HOWEVER it requires changing one number in the main config file, or adding a custom cfgmoves class to the unit (which is okay in my case because all my units have their own set of animations). A side effect of fixing it is that the units now move vertically with animated elevators and ramps without any scripting.

I have not seen any Flashlight on the Pistol however.

Sniper Rifle does'nt have one either

Excuse my ignorance, but if vehicle classes can have lights attached.... could you not create an invisible (and very small) vehicle and script it to "attach" to a weapon ?

Just a thought...

I had a look in Halo on the xbox (splitscreen) a while ago, after first seeing this thread

Looked at where the lights were..

Theres 2, just above were his eyes would be, the visor thing that sticks out, either side of that

Most lights you can see the beam with it.

Look in the "First Model Imported From Halo" thread, MC has lost most of the stuff, and Caribbian has only a single CD with stuff backed up, and it's aparently corrupt..

But, theres a small chance Manticore/Nephlim's Mercaniary units will have flashlights....? (Not sure at all, but it isn't an impossible idea tounge2.gif)

afaik u can only manipulate it by changeing one of the cone models in data3d

or definig lightshape in the cfg of the cfgreflectors in the addons cpp

but htis doenst work somehow...
