Drill Sergeant 0 Posted September 6, 2004 @ Heatseeker, Odd I was under the same impression. @UsMarine408, At any rate, instead of hacking up a ton of addons and pasteing things from one addon onto another I am building the content from the ground up. The protec is a place holder until I dig out and texture the PSGAT and MICH models... Also I'm not going to tolerate any discussion on the ishue Seals do wear floppy hats, why? Because I have a ton of offical US Navy sacntion photo's of seals with them on. Ok? Head gear has not been a primary ishue yet because the base body still has bugs. The only model shown has been the team leader who is still under development and subject to change. Also I have been gone every other day and am recovering from a nasty sore throat. FerretFangs 0 Posted September 6, 2004 Any chance for a Sr-47? U know that M-4 that shoots 7.62X39 ak rounds??Will there be any other foreign weapons? Your making Ak's right? What about other stuff? Found it in Earl's archives... http://www.baconbomb.com/modworks/files/sr47beta.zip With the help of SgtEversman, I've updated the config to allow it to fire sub-sonic ammunition, which makes the weapon properly suppressed. IRL, the weapon comes with a KAC suppressor. But it doesn't completely silence the weapon, as it is meant to fire battlefield pickup ( standard, unsilenced ) cartridges. Without sub-sonic ammunition, the supressor only makes the weapon tolerable for the operator to fire in enclosed spaces like caves. I've added the ability, and sub-sonic ammo to suppress it until the initial ammo loadout is spent. This is most realistic. I've also changed the config for the SR-74 to use the SR-47's model, as I didn't like the red plastic magazines. I'll provide the updated config to the mod team, if they'd like to incorporate the weapon into the addon- and are willing give Earl, and SgtEversman the proper credit, of course. Contributing what I can. BTW: I updated Art's USAS-12, too.

Drill Sergeant 0 Posted September 7, 2004 US Marine is not a credible sorce as his story seems to change. Last I talked to him his father was a marine and the brothers were all alive and well. Along with another story I'm not repeateing do to the vulgarity of it. *edit* I see 4 people with floppy hats on, so it looks like a split. Also if the offical links worked again I'd post offical pictures of a whole seal team with floppy hats on. Also I see more and more pictures of Seals in the middle east with helmets on and fewer pictures of Seals in the woods. It would make sence to wear a helmet in the middle east. Since I am doing Woodland/Snow/Tropical it doesn't make sence to wine to me about that. There will be alowances and variants of each once we get to the head gear. Since at this stage I am still working on the vests and gear within that general area, pictures or comments within that nature would be more helpful.

Drill Sergeant 0 Posted September 7, 2004 So far for the vests I've only turned up like 3-6 vest for the seals. Seems Blackhawk gear is popular but the Float vests are also used in tandom with RACK or MOLL gear. So depending on there duty each seal will have a difernt vest. Right now only the team leader model is being assembled, once he is finished more variants will follow.
UsMarine408 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Not to jump off topic but just one last word Drill Sergeant dont even think about calling me a liar alright cause if you remember you were the one that said you were a seal one time Then i talked to you again and you said you were Avril Lavagne Ok im done with the flame war back on topic please
hellfish6 7 Posted September 7, 2004 USMarine - watch what you say. You're hardly one to claim innocence when it comes to liars. If this topic doesn't get back on topic, people are gonna get PRed.

FerretFangs 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Looks great! The grenade cannsters are still a bit thin, and short. The lip mike could be made as a 3D object, as opposed to a two dimensional texture. And the boots could be replaced with something better suited for CQB. Keep it coming.

bigdog632 0 Posted September 10, 2004 are you planning on any vehicles? i live near a naval base and see the SEALs doing water training on occasion and they use this helo(i think) http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/h-53.htm also they use the zodiacs and such boats for landings RHIB http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/rhib.htm SDV(kinda crappy pics though) http://www.fas.org/irp/program/collect/seal_sdv.htm This one doesnt have a name but it looks cool http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/craft.htm the middle one im no seal expert i know more about the army but if i do know they are based 30 min from me and i get to see some of their more "routine" training a lot the RHIB would be nice and the MH53 is also used for extractions a lot around here anyway, im sure the HH60 does also or MH60 but not in the training i see i also saw one italian mod had the penetrator thing on its helicopter for extractions, i never got to try it out but was wondering if you could incorporate it into a helo for extraction purposes.....sorry for my large post
BoweryBaker 0 Posted September 10, 2004 Did Joan Jett join the military?
FerretFangs 0 Posted September 10, 2004 @ bigdog632: Quote[/b] ]This one doesnt have a name but it looks cool That would be the Very Slender Vessel, or VSV. Made by Paragon Mann Ltd. http://www.vsvboats.com/ That's actually a prototype design, I believe. http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http The next-generation SEAL Special Operations craft will probably be the VSV 24m FIST. Quote[/b] ]The VSV 24m FIST (Fast Insertion Sea Transport) has been designed to fulfill a specific military need - to transport 30 passengers into theatre at high speeds undetected. In addition, due to the inherent handling characteristics of all VSV (see VSV Concept) the passengers arrive fit for duty. The VSV 24m FIST has a multipurpose cargo compartment designed to take long range fuel tanks, a 9000lbs cargo pallet, an additional crew module to seat 12 or a weapons platform.
