I gave it a 9 as it breaks a lot of boundaries in game play but nothing is perfect.

I would give it 100% cause I believe this is the best game ever and no other game will ever be able to beat it

Except for OFP2, oh well I guess I have to give 101% to OFP2

I gave it 10, compared to anything else remotely close to the genre Opf is by far the best IMO smile.gif

I´ll have to split up into categories:

Graphics: 8/10

would be more if support for higher texture resolutions above 256x256px would be added

Sound: 6.5/10

I can´t get along with the dull and dry sound of all weapons, also several of the weapon systems are sharing the same sound, such as ZSU-23-4 with all Helicopter cannons, M163 PIVADS (Vulcan).

Gameplay: 9.95346/10

no comment necessary.

Multiplayer: 7/10

OFP has been continiously improved in this regard since 1.10, it has gone through small overhauls in multiplayer, making it better playable there. Although there is still room for improvement, such as to simplify and add certain things, BIS knows which.

Longvity: 11/10

Sorry, simply had to give it 110% there, only simulations were able to gain my interest and attention for such a period of time. Max Payne lasted not a week on my HDD, Counterstrike i erazed after 1 hour of lan play, RTCW i played through in 2 weeks and it´s already covering dust, Ghost Recon i´m still interested in, but not as much as in OFP.

Overall Score: a healthy 8.5 out of 10.

BTW: Never give someone or something the highest possible amount of points, cause then there´s no room for improvement anymore biggrin.gif

Depends on the version...

First SP Demo ever:

Mood and possibilities: 10

Sound: 7

Graphics: 8 (not bad for such big open areas)

Fun: 7 (good AI)

OFP V1.0:

Mood and possibilities: 10

Sound: 7

Graphics: 8

Fun: 3 (AI much too good, much too much bugs)

Netcode: 1 (unenjoyable)

Comments: Never seen so much light and shadow in one game and I don`t like to play the Guinea pig for software and pay lots of money for it!

OFP V1.4:

Mood and possibilities: 10 (do you know anything better?)

Sound: 7

Graphics: 8

Offline Fun: 7-8 (depends on mission/campaign)

Netcode: 7 (much improved but still not good enough even with ADSL and big hardware - and an hard job to integrate MP although the game was started as SP)

Comments: Still too many bugs, but lot of things have been drastic improved

Final comment:

- should have been released at least six month later

- development tools should have been released at release date

- since the VBS it seems that the normal customer is no longer needed, VBS get`s all and OFP nothing. sad.gif

- Hope that there will be an OFP2 which will be released in an final stage with even more possibilities.

OPF's Song

I just can't get you out of my head

Boy your loving is all I think about

I just can't get you out of my head

Boy it's more than I dare to think about

Every night, every day

Just to be there in your arms

Won't you stay, won't you lay

Stay forever and ever and ever and ever

La la la...

\\OPF's song.

9, would have give 10 if OF features RTCW's shattering windows, breakable stuff etc. NOT THE stupid ZOMBIES!

I gave it a 9 it is the only game that has had me hooked for such a long time, the only disapointment is the netcode.

Give it a 9 here. Love this game, but I'll leave 1 point open for further improvements.smile.gif

I gave it a score of 8. It suffers from poor sounds and crummy mult-player. But overall it's a fun, enjoyable and realistic infantry sim.

What would you give OFP compaired to Dogs of War for the C-64? ... games generally get better and they always have to be compaired to games from the same period. Right now I wouldn't give Half Life more that 55% (only because of the many mods), but when it was new everyone was very excited. There are some games however that simply has so much gameplay value that they continue to be fun for very long. Tribes2 is one of those games, and so is OFP actually. When I think about those two games it's not sound, graphics etc. that impress me... but the gameplay, the many options, the freedom etc. Tribes2 will always be one of my favorite games. Starsiege Tribes was great and in many ways it resembles OFP in that it had a huge potential but still lacking. I think OFP2 will, like Tribes2, be as perfect as can be. Still there is no other game like OFP, nothing comes close, OFP is the best.... and for that reason I have to give it the rating of 10. The rating 10 should be used and I can't see another game that is better that OFP (Warsims that is - T2 is still the king with a rating of 11 tounge.gif )

I give it an 8 out of 10, and that's good because I'm hard to please. Like most others I believe that it suffers from poor sounds and poor netcode (still mad.gif ).

The only other thing I'd like to see is the release of mod tools or an SDK to allow the users to improve the game.

That's just my 2 cents.....

I gave it 9, because it's the best game ever, but not 10 because it has ruined all other games for me - now they feel really crappy compared to OFP and that sucks.

I'd be more generous earlier when the game was fresh to me. However I gave it a 7. In my book errors take off points and BOY there ARE a lot of mistakes.

I think I'd give it a 9.

I got hooked on this game really easily and that is generally not the case for me with FPSs. But the possibilities are enormous and multiplayer, despite its occasional shortcomings, is fun.

Its almost perfect now. Just need to touch up on some small amount of bugs left. Also the game sounds could be a bit better(love the way guns sound in Ghost Recon). And it would be nice if they could make all the cockpits look as nice as the Oh confused.gif whatever that small chopper is called tounge.gif . they did a great job with that, now all they need to do is go back to other units and touch them up. btw anyone else notice that when you get shot the buzzer goes off in the cockpit of that chopper oops forgot to say I gave it a 9
