deathsai 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Ok, I make a script or something and save it as script.sqs for example. However, the program (wordpad) always saves it as script.sqs.txt! I can never make an SQS file! Notepad does this too. Chris's OFP editor doesn't work, whenever I double click the shortcut it appears in my task bar but does not show up on the screen! I can't find any other script editors. Please help me!
Blanco 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Easy one Type the name of your script (eg: script.sqs) Click on the popup menu save type as and choose all files and save. Â

deathsai 0 Posted June 10, 2004 That's what I thought too blanco, which is why I said "It shouldn't be this difficult!". I could make .sqs's fine with notepad on my old computer, but not on this one. Maybe it's because of Windows XP?
MrZig 0 Posted June 10, 2004 When I'm making a new script I just right click > new file and put script.sqs then go from there. That should work? Oh, PS: Quote[/b] ]whenever I double click the shortcut it appears in my task bar but does not show up on the screen! Right click it in the task bar thingy and click "maximize", then it should work. deathsai 0 Posted June 11, 2004 Hmm, thank's for the help with COE. That might be all I need, but it would be good to know how to fix the other problem with notepad.
NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted June 11, 2004 I usally just copy a working .sqs file to where I need it and paste it there. An just clear all the txt inside and just start from there.it should save as a .sqs when you are done.
TheRedBaron 0 Posted June 11, 2004 I have xp and had same problem, but its easy to solve. Go to control panel\folder options\file types, then just click new to add a new file type then type in sqs and your done. You can now save files as sqs file
Placebo 29 Posted June 11, 2004 Just be sure to use "" and you need not worry about anything else........
redface 1 Posted June 11, 2004 is there a way to make notepad remember the path you were working in? alas, extensive usage of this program is bound to lead to repetitive strain injury
Placebo 29 Posted June 11, 2004 I get around that by putting a shortcut into the default directory (my documents I guess?) to the folder I want to be working in.
benu 1 Posted June 11, 2004 Just use a free editor like eg winscite and tell windows to open all sqm/sqs files with it. It will always save them as sqs. To make a new file just create a new txt file and rename it to sqs or create an sqs in the first place.
