miles teg 1 Posted June 19, 2005 Well, sorry to disappoint but Addon Pack #3 won't have the Jordanian stuff or the Historic stuff in it. Â Those will be done afterwards. Â Besides a ton of updates new stuff will include: Egyptian: F-16C new Mig-21's SA-2 An-12 Cub AH-64 Apache Gazelle light gunship AT-3 SAGGER AT-3 RA'AD-T SAGGER with tandem warhead CoC compatible Artillery-M109 and mortar UAZ URAL 5-ton truck Israeli: F-16C F-16I Sufa F-4 Phantom 2000 AH-64C Apache AH-64D Long Bow Apache (Both in various weapons configs) UH-60 Blackhawk Ruger 10/22 short range silenced sniper rifle Negev LMG Uzi carbine Man carried SPIKE ATGM Crew served SPIKE ATGM 2 1/2 ton truck new land rovers ATVs CoC Compatible Artillery: M101 G-5 M109 mortars and some other arty piece that I can't remember. It may not seem like much, but we've also done TONS of updating on old units. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
bucket man 2 Posted June 19, 2005 Thats more than I expected. Few questions though. Isnt Egypt also operating AH-64D Apache Longbow? Isnt the G5 South African artillery piece? I had no idea IDF had those. One thing I especially love is the COC compatible artillery. Most dissapointing thing about OFrP was that their mortars were basically eye candy. Im glad LoBo isnt doing the same mistake. Are the jordanians going to be released in addon pack 4 or some smaller jordanian stuff only, pack? Btw I dont think Egypt still issues its soldiers with Tokarevs? Its like what 70 years old? I read that Egyp is building M9 Berettas under license so it might be more accurate pistol to use for egyptians that Tokarev.
RTR_Commander 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Isnt the G5 South African artillery piece? I had no idea IDF had those. Yeah the G-5 is South African and was alos used by the Iraqis too. I think they are quite common in some middle eastern countries.
miles teg 1 Posted June 20, 2005 Good point about the Tokarev's. We'll look into changing those out. As for the G-5, yeah Israel uses it. Although I don't have the reference handy, we did find one. Also Israel and South Africa have always had a close military relationship. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
Ironsight 1 Posted June 20, 2005 As for the G-5, yeah Israel uses it. Although I don't have the reference handy, we did find one. Also Israel and South Africa have always had a close military relationship. Never new Israel used the G-5. But it could be that some found their way into the IDF due to the close military relationship. Countries I know that have them are: - South Africa - Iraq (had them most of them were taken to the US after the Gulfwar and Iraqi Freedom) - Thailand (only a few for the Marines) - Austria (they made some of them under license) - UAE (they also have the G-6) This is a pretty interesting article about G-5's in Iraqi Freedom: Link But without a doubt the G-5 is one of, if not the best, piece of artillery in the world
bucket man 2 Posted June 20, 2005 Yeah I knew SA and Israel had close ties. Wasnt there rumors of some Israeli and South-African nuclear testing near african coasts? To Ironsight: Any news about the iranian infantry you was working on? They looked quite nice in the one screenshot you released.

-IDF-Hayal 0 Posted June 20, 2005 I see that you are fighting for realism in you mod... so why for example not to fix some old mistakes...WHY YOUR ISRAELI CAR15/M4's THAT MUST BE WITH ACOG USE THE OTHER SIGHT INSTEAD OF IT???
miles teg 1 Posted June 20, 2005 Currently we now have all of the IDF forces using M4's (INQ's models) instead of CAR-15's although I think some of our police units may still be using our CAR-15 models. For sights at the moment they are using the Falcon reflext sights, however we are working on trying to make a Meprolight M21 red dot reflex sight for them. Â However the Falcon sights seem to still be used quite a bit in real life. Â Also occasionally IDF SF units are seen with Trijicon ACOG sights on their M4A1's and on their Designated Marksman M4/M16 variants. Â A few Civilian SF units also use the Trijicon Reflex sights. So right now there isn't anything unrealistic about the weapon sights on our CAR-15's and M4's. Regarding the G-5. From: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/rsa/g5.htm "The GC-45 design was picked up by South Africa and produced under the designation G-5. These saw service against Cuban and FREMELO forces in Angola and some found their way to Israel where they were used to good effect in the Bekka Valley in 1986." SFWanabe 0 Posted June 20, 2005 Why not just use SJB DMS Rifle pack for designated marksmen?
miles teg 1 Posted June 20, 2005 Because SBJ asked me to keep it seperate from our stuff. Â Any mission maker is free to use his DMS pack with our mod. Â Its not that difficult to add it on our units within the mission editor just using some scripts as long as you know the weapon name and ammo name. In fact I actually released a DMS mission using his pack and our mod awhile back shortly after he released that DMS pack. At any rate, we currently have a designated marksman unit, however he uses the Stoner SR-25 which is what most designated marksmen are switching to in the IDF now. Â In a few units however the old Galat'z (galil based) sniper rifle is still holding on as a DMS as well as probably still a few M4A1/M16A2 based DMS systems. WOW!!! Hayal, those models look amazing. Â Our only concern might be the poly count on the Rafael OWS. Â That can REALLY lag a game badly if its too high. Â Although its hard not to get a high poly count on something like that cuz it has so many small parts. Â However the bad thing is that it makes it much more difficult to texture. Â The Ephod also looks great but clipping might be a problem. But you are welcome to experiment with it on our IDF soldier models to see if you can make it fit without clipping too badly. Â The tanker helmet also looks very good and of coarse the Sufa is definitely something LoBo could use. Â There are still quite a few Israeli vehicles and items that we could really use. Â Any any rate, if you're interested in joining the LoBo mod just PM me. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
miles teg 1 Posted July 28, 2005 Screenshots of our new IDF snipers. Are old ones looked like bee keepers so we decided to update them. We also decided that we didn't want them to look like everyone else's ghillie suit snipers so we based this one off of one of the types of sniper suits worn by the IDF but it was difficult to approximate perfectly. At any rate, it does the job of camoflaging the sniper in the prone position. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

-IDF-Hayal 0 Posted July 29, 2005 I think that my Rafael model is not disinterested for you I can't really say the exact number of faces... It's better if you'll take a look on it and estimate the number yourself.
