Guest Ti0n3r Posted April 26, 2006 I'll ask here instead if starting a new thread. So; Does anyone have a working mirror for TexView? The one on Flashpoint1985.com seems to be dead. I have also tried google, with no luck.
BlackScorpion 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Well after trying Texview (which I downloaded from www.opflashpoint.org or ofp.info I think), I'd recommend you Pantool, which I posted a link for on the previous page.

Al Simmons 0 Posted September 18, 2006 Thx ABS_01 that was exactly what i searched @Bratty: give Gimp a try, its a really good tool.
hardrock 1 Posted September 18, 2006 also, whats the dif between .pac and .paa .paa has transparancy capability and .pac does not Well, both have. But .pac supports only 2bit transparency, means completely visible or completely invisible, while you can set up several greyscales in .paa.
BraTTy 0 Posted September 18, 2006 @Bratty: give Gimp a try, its a really good tool. Ya i'd like to try it...you have it already compiled for me? You guys gonna make me compile it,lol

Abs_01 0 Posted September 27, 2006 Hey...I've got a quick question. How long should one wait for permission before releasing someone else's modified addon? I think that the person might have left the community, and I was curious if two weeks with no reply was enough of a grace period. Thanks in advance! chipper 0 Posted September 27, 2006 If you can't get a hold of them for more than a few weeks just make sure to credit them in the read-me, IMO.
BraTTy 0 Posted September 29, 2006 Should have been asked in this topic really: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....0;st=75 If you want my opinion.... The maker owns it forever (by law so many years after his death) If you are rereleasing someones addon. You really should try the email for 30 days thing. If you know he's outta addonmaking, its hard to say. They could come back, come back for ARMA even Read the fine print, alot of addonmakers specify that you can use if as long as you give proper credits. Alot of the times an addon is made using several peoples work and permission is not always possible What if...you rerelease someones uh60 chopper and turn it into a medevac or such.Come to find out he was working on one for the past years and planned on releasing one ? What if... you rerelease someones addon and he didn't own parts of it ? Permission and credits for peoples work don't always get passed down Best thing is...just to make you own addon, its not that hard
Sennacherib 0 Posted September 29, 2006 which is the maximum number of faces for a soldier without lag? sorry i know how to make buildings, but i suck with the soldiers
nephilim 0 Posted September 29, 2006 dont exceed 5k for ofp that could be limit for good decent looking soldier invest more attention into textures instead of modeling each gear part
Sennacherib 0 Posted September 29, 2006 5k? well it's for some robots addons, i need a lot of spheres and cyclinders and with that, the number of faces increases quickly. if i have other questions, could i ask them directly to you by pm?
Abs_01 0 Posted September 29, 2006 Quote[/b] ]Should have been asked in this topic really:http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....0;st=75 Fair enough. I just assumed that it was for the whole company who stole addons issue. Quote[/b] ]If you are rereleasing someones addon. You really should try the email for 30 days thing. If you know he's outta addonmaking, its hard to say. They could come back, come back for ARMA even. 30 days. Fair enough. If he comes back and says we can't use it, I'd have no problem asking for it to be pulled down. Quote[/b] ]Permission and credits for peoples work don't always get passed down I'd be sure to pass credit to the original addonmaker, and anyone he listed in his readme as well. Anyone beyond that I can't really be held responsible for because I didn't know about it. Quote[/b] ]Best thing is...just to make you own addon, its not that hard We're trying as hard as we can. If you'd like, you can visit Operation Northstar to see what we've done so far. Cheers. Abs
