The skids in the OFP Gazelle pic and the pics of the Gazelle in real life don't look much different to me.

My opinion is that it's realistic enough.

I also would rather see both a Royal Army and a Royal Marine version.   But if it has to be one or the other, probably a Royal Army Gazelle.   But that's a tough call because the only British infantry at the moment are the UK forces Royal Marines.... but there is supposed to be a modern British Army infantry addon pack coming out this week I believe.

Also I am glad that you are making one version with rockets, and another version with a door gun.   Door guns are almost as much fun as rocket pods.    I've gotten quite good at working with an AI doorgunner when I'm the pilot.  AI doorgunners are usually more accurate then a human door gunner so they're pretty good for providing close air support except in heavy AA enviornments.   I learned from flying the OFrP Gazelles that its not a good idea to fly a circuit around areas with lots of heavy machine guns as they tear up the gazelles.   Better to make quick passes at high speed (much as in real life).   That's one reason why for close air support, rockets or heavy cannon make sense.  But for areas in which there is only light machine gun fire, the Gazelles with door gunners (Like in the Malvinas Mod) are ideal for picking off enemy troops scurrying around in the brush, and for taking out sniper positions on building rooftops.  

So I like your idea of a rocket version and a door gun only version.

Keep up the excellent work.  I can't wait to fly this badboy!

Oh, by the way, I also recommend that you ask the OFrP mod if you can use their Gazelle engine sounds. They are THE BEST. I do not think you will be able to top their engine sounds. They are cool guys, so I'm sure they will be happy to give you permission to use their engine sounds.

It just sounds SOOOO amazing when those French Gazelle gunships go screaming over your head!!!!

How about an un-armed one and medivac versions?

I still think you should use the French model as a whole and just reskin and adjust to diff roles.

It was a typo on my part... all the branches in the British military are usually royal this or royal that and I was not thinking about the proper title of the British Army as I was typing quickly so I apologize for that mistake.

But insulting me by saying I know nothing is rather childish.

I do know something about military stuff.

I love the gazelle. When I was in the Navy, my ship was carrying some of these birds, so I happened to have a good look at them. I compared the one from the malvinas mod and OfrP, and I have to say the the French one is the closest to the reality of the two. I don`t see why this new one should use the least good of these two basis..

I think it depends more on whats available at the time. I'm not sure what either the malvinas or frenchpoint mod thinks about ppl using their models, so it may have an affect on what ppl can or can't use.

I added a comment on the Malvinas mod asking if I could use their model but the thread was deleted. I didn't get even an answer. I'm gonna ask again via e-mail. However even if they say no, I'll give it to "selected" people I know in the community. As for the Frenchpoint version, I only tonight had a butchers so I'm not sure if a reskin would be possible. It should be ok though. Of course that is only if they allow it. The Malvinas Gazelle was just a project I started after I learned how to edit skins last week. I have a problem with having both the original Malvinas Gazelle and my version in the addons folder at the same time. I don't know what to change in the config yet. Ideally I would change something so it would allow me to have both available ingame.

Whilst I'm waiting on a few help threads at Ofpec.com, I've been playing with the Malvinas Puma. Here's a screen of what I've got so far.

If anyone knows how to edit the config so I can use both versions, ie, rename my version or whatever then please tell me so I can give you guys a sample.

Sorry, the post wasn't deleted on purpose we have some problems and lost some posts (someone playing with purge fuctions...:crazy: ).

About our Gazelle or Puma feel free to edit them, no need to have it in your addon our skinned version or cpp, just don't forget the credit sections and everythink it's ok.
