yes we know about those, and have done for a long time. Appreciate it anyway though.

That was a Jordanian Gazelle captured by Israel if I remember correctly.

Many countries in the Middle East use the Gazelle. Iraq had some as well but I believe they were mostly destroyed during the first Gulf War.

What would really kick ass is a Gazelle that used Footmunch's roundel system and in both regular cammo and desert cammo versions. That way they could be used by many different mod teams.

Never seen them on a Gazelle.

Prove me wrong please.

I think they were fitted with some kind of TOW anti armour but I have never seen any with pods or guns.

The Malvinas Gazelle was my starting point. This version is gonna be the same but with some tweaks here and there. Like weaponary, side, sounds etc.

This is still only Beta remember.

Also there will be an Army and a Marine version.

If you're using the MLV ones, please make them targetable by groundunits, since the MLV ones aren't.

I think prior the Lynx entering service, they may have been armed with rocketpods. Not sure though. May have been TOW

Will you be making MG, TOW and Rocketpod versions of these?

Must say I'm looking forward to trying these out.  smile_o.gif

Might I suggest a Puma for the brits next, since there aren't many working on that at the moment. You could maybe use the OFrP one as a starting point

If I'm not mistaken the Falklands Mod will be making an Argie version, but they won't be making a British one, since they didn't see any action in the Falklands conflict.

OH BTW u might want to edit the stilits for the chopper

Watch your filesizes please, an 865kb picture is a long way beyond breaking the rules.

The Gazelle CAN mount rocket pods in addition to various types of machine guns, cannons, AA missiles and ATGM missiles (usually the HOT ATGM).

The RAF may not use the Gazelle typically as a gunship, but if weapons are needed they can mount them.

Also keep in mind that this is for OFP, and a unarmed scout helicopter is pretty darn boring in OFP.  So I have no problem with the rocket pods or some kind of weapon system on them. At least that way it can provide a little close air support.   I LOVE using the OFrP Gazelles with the cannon on them.  They're wonderful for close air support and are just a joy to fly for French OFP missions.

At any rate comprehensive info on the Gazelle is available at:

I c. I used this picture for reference, I think they look ok.

[mg]http://www.operations.mod.uk/telic/images/ops/cdo_gazelle_hr.jpg[/img] >100kb

Also I found some material on the use of the rockets, here,

http://www.britains-smallwars.com/Falklands/brit-aircraftlosses.htm

Here, is a pic of some stuff too.

There will be a version with and without pods.

As a query, which would be most preferable, Royal Marines or Army?

Cheers.

774kb is not acceptable either, next time will be a warning level increase and post restriction - Placebo.

well of course that true....... but if you want the helicopter to be modern, it has to not have rockets......... if however your using it to represent a chopper in the Falklands time. Thats fine..... Its just that the Lynx AH took over the role with the missles and the Gazelle went into Recee art spotting

Royal marines + ARMY....... do both

You are 100% correct. I think that if I wanted it to be totally accurate I should take the rockets off. However, with all the people who have said that a support helo without weapons would be boring, I think I'll keep them on. The other Gazelle will just have a door mounted MG for the people who want realism (me). That way, you can choose whether you want to use the accurate one or the inaccurate one. What do you think?
