General Barron 0 Posted December 21, 2004 I guess I should let this go, but I can't help it... You DO know that there is a settings file for the ECP, right?!? You DO know what that file does, right?!? Knowing the above, you should know that you can turn off up to 100% of the ECP's scripts. So are you saying that your computer can't handle running the ECP with no scripts, or are you saying that you just don't know how to use the settings.sqs? ECP and Flash FX use both the same blood script , the same basic GMR explosion script with few differences... I've just an AMD Athlon 1.6 ghz 448 SDRAM Fx Geforce 5700 256 and using dxdll , my computer can support them 2 ; I can't see where's the problem ... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Pappy Boyington 0 Posted December 23, 2004 speaking of flash FX, i know this is kinda stupid but ill say it anyway. if you are looking for an effect only mod like ECP and Flash FX. and arent looking for a total conversion like EECP or Y2K3 then id like to say that having only breifly trying an older version of it for some ideas for Y2K3, that i reccomend the Flash FX. but only for people that are looking for effects only. Y2K3 is a balance of effects and new models (with everything replaced) so if your looking for a new OFP then your looking for Y2K3. if your looking for snazzy effects <span style='color:red'>only</span> then your looking for Flash FX action man: thank you for the kind words, its still good, even after all this time, to see apprecaition of my work expressed in that of posts on my website or in this topic Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Pappy Boyington 0 Posted December 26, 2004 at version 6.0 i already said that i have no plans on updating Y2K3 past this point. most of my users have since personaly customized thier Y2K3 and pu in hours of personal customization... and to make them do ti all over again would be criminal. and like you said.. bye bye framerate so dont start countin the days.. im not updating it with the new ECP.. and secondly.. even if i wanted to, i dont have the time i once did to work on it in order to update it. Pappy Boyington 0 Posted December 27, 2004 well i havnt watched it since ive already devloped a prejudgment to it based on my feelings towards some of its team and the project as a whole so my watching it would only give me more stuff to bitch about.. so im gonna aviod it all together. ive said this before and ill say it again.. after its released if anyone wants to combine it with Y2K3.. or make any other form of Y2K3 (IE: Desert or Winter) then please link me to the temp installer or at the very least an rar file with all the nessacary addons needed and i will gladly host it on the Y2K3 site Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Pappy Boyington 0 Posted December 27, 2004 something else. it was adapted from Combat's M2 on thier M113 and M2A2 and .. well everything form combat with an M2.. i was trying to get the default BIS M2 to have the same awesome effect. but accidently made all guns have it.. so i tweaked it to last one 2 seconds and viola.. realistic i know some guns dont product as much smoke as others.. but its awesome when fireing the M249 or PKM at full auto.. just wish that cloutlets would blind the AI.. would be nice for AI machine gunners to fire in short bursts.. or loose accuracy as the smoke builds. anyway yea that was COMBAT's feature.. all i did was edit the gun smoke values of the cloudfx (or something like that.. its found above Class Cloth in the config) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Thunderbird 0 Posted December 29, 2004 I've tried the Y2K3 , it's beautiful , but I've found few little bugs ... -M16 sound isn't the same one between crews and soldiers -Look what occurs when you open fire on water -concerning the boats put ito download above I didn't notice any change on the level of the boats of BIS -The sound of m2 isn't the same one between that of M113; HTTV, M1A2 After trying the Y2K3 and the EECP , I find that each MOD has its qualities and defects , I prefer EECP because it requires definitely less addons that the Y2K3 , Y2K3 is a very good mod... Pappy Boyington 0 Posted December 29, 2004 the M16 and M4 use the same fireing sound.. as well as share magazines i increased the water splash from teh weak 2 inch spash to that because at longer ranges it looks a HELL of alot better when the bullets hit the water the M2 sound SHOULD be differnt.. thats why i had you download the PT boats.. for personal use i changed the weak sound of the cbt_m2 with that of the cwk_pt_weapons but that was for personal use Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
