miles teg 1 Posted May 6, 2004 Perhaps tankers don't wear their body armor in training much, but the ones I've seen in Iraq seem to be wearing body armor as they seemed alot bulkier then a simple cooling vest...if they're not then they're not very smart because there have been several penetrations of the M1's in Iraq by RPG rockets (mainly through the top roof armor). Also there was one Bradley driver killed by an RPG round. Apparently it was a direct hit to the front right on his driver compartment. However with that said, I hope that the crew are not wearing the older PASGT vests but rather newer body armor such as interceptor. There also is a type of body armor that in the past (maybe still today?) was used by US Army tank crews that looks more like civilian police bullet proof vests. However I don't remember the exact model or manufacturer of that vast. But it's made to be lightweight and comfortable and doesn't have any protection for the neck area. Rudedog 0 Posted May 6, 2004 That's it... rub it in. Â Rudedog - have you tried PMing the author? I think I've seen him around the forums recently. Yes, I have sent a few PM's on this site, many emails directly to him and posted on the BOH forums. Nothing. Not even another team member responded to the post telling me he's unavailable. An this has been for about 2 months. BTW, Hellfish, you get my PM?

MLF 0 Posted May 6, 2004 So will you be releasing the Bradley or are you still waiting for permission?
Rudedog 0 Posted May 6, 2004 So will you be releasing the Bradley or are you still waiting for permission? I am releasing the Bradleys first, then when the crew are completed, if I still haven't heard from HYK, then I'll release the crew and update the Bradleys to use them as the default crew. da12thMonkey 1943 Posted May 6, 2004 Why not release the current pack with the old crew you did (the BIS reskinned ones) in a separate .pbo that can be overwritten by a .pbo containing the Hyk Crew if/when you get permission. That'd probably make for a smaller download to update the crew.
Rudedog 0 Posted May 6, 2004 Why not release the current pack with the old crew you did (the BIS reskinned ones) in a separate .pbo that can be overwritten by a .pbo containing the Hyk Crew if/when you get permission. That'd probably make for a smaller download to update the crew. Because the new ones are closer to being done than the old ones. And the crew are a seperate addon, they are not part of the Bradley addon.
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted May 6, 2004 Oh right, fair enough. They looked pretty done but what do I know eh? Can't wait to get my hands on the things anyhow.

Taconic 0 Posted May 7, 2004 Looking good, Rudedog. I've been following these for a while. I hope you'll let me add them to my replacment config. Do you guys have any plans for an M113A3? I'm just wondering since you already have a base model to work with from the ambulance.

M9ACE 0 Posted May 7, 2004 I am really excited about this. Â All of these addons are looking really good. Â However, I believe I have spotted a couple little technical errors that you may want to correct before release (if you are interested in fixing them). Â Rudedog, would I be able to do some beta-testing for you? Edit: OOPS, never mind I did not notice that it was just released. Â I will take a look at this addon pack when I get home from work and I have time to look at them.

FHP_Intercepter 0 Posted May 7, 2004 The brads are outstanding! Â I can't wait for the m113s. Just a note on the whole m2 on the ambluence thing.... "(1) Medical personnel may carry arms for defense of themselves and their patients. Thisdoes not mean that they may resist capture or fire on the advancing enemy. It means that, if the enemy isattacking and ignoring the marked medical status of the medic or the medical unit, the medic may provideself-protection. If the enemy merely seeks to assume control of a medical facility or a vehicle without firingon it, the facility or vehicle may be occupied. Of course, it is preferable and proper to attempt to avoidcapture by withdrawal.(2) The arms that medics may use are only defensive arms. By AR these are defined asservice rifles (M-16s) and pistols. Other US services restrict arms to pistols alone." "Outright violations of the Geneva Conventions result when: 1.Medical personnel are used to man any offensive-type weapons or weapons systems. 2.Crew-served weapons are mounted on a medical vehicle. ("The US policy is that crew-served weapons may not be mounted on armored ambulances or air ambulances, even if mounting brackets are present") 3.Hand grenades, light antitank weapons, grenade launchers, or any weapons other than rifles and pistols are issued to a medical unit or its personnel." -FM 8-10-15 US military and the geneva convention
