POPKA 0 Posted March 14, 2004 out of intrest what ever happened to the this allowdammge false/true command in the editor it seemed as if it was removed after version 1.
Master_Chief 0 Posted March 14, 2004 yep it was probably removed to prevent cheating.
Sole 0 Posted March 14, 2004 well, not only does it seem like it was removed, it actually was removed after 1.00 due to the potential abuse of the function in MP missions
Milkman 1 Posted March 21, 2004 I also remember that some of the event handlers could be used ot make you invicible but after version 1.91 it didn't work.
Migebuff 0 Posted March 21, 2004 Nah, It still works: player addeventhandler ["hit",{player setdammage 0}]
toadlife 3 Posted March 22, 2004 Nah, It still works:player addeventhandler ["hit",{player setdammage 0}] I have a well placed bullet and a tank shell that'll render that peice of code useless. The fact is there is no way to be invincible since that command was removed in 1.0.
Master_Chief 0 Posted March 22, 2004 the trick to invincibility is to also add a 'killed' eventhandler just like the hit eventhandler. the hit EH makes sure you don't get wounded by small arms fire and the kill EH makes you invincible to hits that would kill you before the hit EH could take effect. No, It doesn't work. Try it and you will see. There is no way to make a unit invicible in the game.
Master_Chief 0 Posted March 22, 2004 correction: that should be a dammaged EH not killed EH. put this in the unit' init line: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">this addeventhandler ["hit", {inv setdammage 0}];this addeventhandler ["dammaged", {inv setdammage 0}] simply name the unit 'inv'. works on tanks, soldiers and cars but not so good with choppers and planes. I havn't tried using the dammaged eh, but I still have reservations as to weather or not it will work. EH share time with other events in the game, so if your game becomes bogged down at all, the 'damaged' EH may not fire before the game registers you as dead. This is the defintely the case when you try and use the 'hit' EH to become invicible. Nevertheless I'll give it a try later on.
toadlife 3 Posted March 24, 2004 That seems to work - but it seemed to fail a few times when I put multiple men on the map and the action got heavy. Still it seemed fairly reliable.

Well, thanks to this my little dream came true. I have always blown others up with satchels, and i saw how high they flew. Of course i wanted to fly too, so now i put some satchels on myself, blew them up and flew : )
BraTTy 0 Posted March 25, 2004 You can still make something invincible with a named property, but thats nothing you can change on-the-fly
