Tovarish 0 Posted April 18, 2004 Well, I just tried it with -nomap again and same problem. "cant memory map" - crash. Suma write about this problem: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=22181 Thanks for the info. I guess I'll try defragmenting and a lower rez. I'm running 1.91, Suma says 1.96 might fix it. My video driver I got less than a week ago so it's recent enough....oh well, we'll see *edit* Patching to 1.96 fixed my problem!! Yes!! this is the campaign I've been wishing for since I picked up OFP. The voice acting's better than CWC! Bolshoi spacibo .
John C Flett 0 Posted April 25, 2004 Is anybody else having framerate issues with this campaign? I'm running a P4 2.8 GHz 512MB with a radeon 9200 and I'm getting about four frames a second in places. I don't experience this problem in any other missions. Taking Battlefields as a benchmark it works fine with view distance set to 2500m. I'm using a fresh install which I've tried with or without the GMR explosions mod. I've also tried different drivers for the card but this campaign just crawls. Could I even have a corrupted version?
Antichrist 0 Posted April 29, 2004 Do you have those issues on all the missions or just the ones with heaps of troops and vehicles?
John C Flett 0 Posted April 29, 2004 Number of troops doesn't seem to be the key. The mission with a hundred rebels fleeing the town is smooth as can be. Sleeping beauty crawls with 20 or so men in the area. Likewise other BIS and unofficial missions with large scale operations work fine.
Antichrist 0 Posted April 30, 2004 I am just thinking if it has something to do with some unofficial addons that use standard BIS units as their base? I had a problem with Kiowa in Convoy mission cutscene since BAS Kiowa was based on it and it came up with an error message everytime. Deleting BAS_Kiowa fixed that. There are blackhawks in Sleeping Beauty try removing all unofficial blackhawk addons (just out of the addons folder) and see what happens. P.S. What version of OFP r u running? Nemesis6 0 Posted April 30, 2004 I don't know if this is the place to post this, but I'm stuck in the Morton mission, when NATO attacks... It just doesn't seem fair, they just roll in with tanks and gunships! Could someone give me an advice?
John C Flett 0 Posted April 30, 2004 I've got both 1.91 and the 1.95 beta. I also have no addons except the GMR explosions mod. Its on a switch though as I've determined it can crash a few cutscenes. Doesn't seem to be the source of the framerate problem beyond the normal effects of lots of blood and wrecks. The one thing that does seem to be a pattern is the problem seems to get worse the further into the campaign I get. Are there any kind of records or carry over from mission to mission? EDIT Suddenly, after playing another campaign ( ULOTC ) for a while Retaliation seems to be working fine. Not sure anything has changed with the setup of the system or the game except perhaps the edition of a -nomap. Will monitor the situation and see what happens. Could someone give me an advice? didnt you remeber the first CWC mission? it was exactly like that. so you just need to dig in the town and shoot all incoming yanks. Then you will recieve order to retreat. Just try to stay alive.
John C Flett 0 Posted April 30, 2004 OK. Had a closer look and it seems the problem IS the GMR explosions MOD. Mostly it runs fine but there are places where it conflicts. Sleeping beauty and the cutscene where the US troops are briefed and get in the black hawks are two that spring to mind. Will try to explore further and see if I can learn more. For what its worth I'm running GMR with the blood addon. I've disabled permenant craters to stop the missing addon message but made blood splater last forever with a maximum of about 600 drops. Â so you just need to dig in the town and shoot all incoming yanks. Then you will recieve order to retreat. Just try to stay alive. Â I know... but the BMPs at my disposal just aren't ready to attack! One looks the other way, hence getting itself destroyed. The other gets taken out by a gunship, and if it is not, it is completely overwhelmed by 2 M1A1s. I've dog in, and the infantry is no problem, but the tanks are! Please, this is a really good campaign, and I'd like to get started on it again.
John C Flett 0 Posted May 3, 2004 Thats the way it goes. The M1s will tear the place up. All you can do is stay out of sight and keep your head down at that point. When I played it my new orders came about 30s after the tanks took the town. Just stay out of their way and you should do fine.
Munk 0 Posted May 4, 2004 Make a nice little stash of AT weapons in the headquaters and just pop up every now and again to shoot a tank. Worked for me

The campaign was good in my opinion (played it months ago). Not to happy killing american soldiers (mentality thing) but nevertheless it was a good campaign. tariq 0 Posted June 10, 2004 ****spoiler**** Anyone have any tips on how to avoid being destroyed by the cobras in the T80 tank column after Regina (forgot the name of the mission)? Â This campaign is absolutely fantastic by the way!
Milkman 1 Posted June 10, 2004 ****spoiler****Anyone have any tips on how to avoid being destroyed by the cobras in the T80 tank column after Regina (forgot the name of the mission)? Sinister-tnuC- 0 Posted June 10, 2004 ive been playing this with the Y2K3 mod too, looks and plays fantastic. only on 4th mission. hope you guys are working on some more campaigns, this is quality.
tariq 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Quote[/b] ]I never ran into any cobras after retaking regina. Btw this campaign is wonderful to begin with, but I use the Y2K3 mod with it and it looks so much better! wow, sucks for me then! Â While driving along the coast from Regina to the next objective, at least two cobras fly in from the sea and destroy my entire tank column. Â I jump out of the tank and only four of the twelve crew men are still alive. Â Two of these get killed in a short skirmish with US infantryman and since the remaining two can only crawl, I leave them behind and proceed to complete the objectives on foot. Â Although it took a long time, I was able to destroy a humvee, two m113's, a Bradley, 2 m60's and one abrams with all of the AT weapons left lying around by deceased grunts along the way to the final objective. Â By the time I got there, so much time had passed that it was already dark enough to use my NV goggles in the valley. Â But has anyone else had this problem with the cobras or am I the only lucky one? Â By the way, I also use the Y2K3 mod, except the CPU friendly one seems to have less issues since the ECP effects are disabled.
void_false 1 Posted June 10, 2004 you must destroy all choppers in previous mission
tariq 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Â --------too bad my piloting skills are garbage (flying choppers in ofp is not exactly a precise science) and I had to cheat to get no next level. Â Anyhow, what I did was race to the village super fast where the choppers couldn't get to me, then when they turned to make their attack runs, I blew them out of the sky with my sabot. Â Funny seeing a chopper bounce down a hill. Â Now I'm trying to escort the convoy but they keep getting stuck around laruns, then a commander in russian (no subtitles) is saying something about "protection" and the mission ends (none of the convoy has been destroyed though. tariq 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Yeah, I'm giving the night flight mission another try. I'm able to get to the island at an altitude of 2-3 and I'm told that I have successfully reached the area without being detected. Now, once I start destroying the vulcans and choppers on the island (also at a very low altitude), I get the message "s***, we've been spotted" and then I'm told to leave the area. How are you supposed to destroy everything on the island without being spotted? Is there a specific target that should be knocked out first? If you destroy everything regardless of whether or not you are spotted, can you successfully complete the mission? Thanks
