hellfish6 7 Posted April 16, 2004 There's a mountain on the 10th Mountain's base that they regularly march up and over. Granted, the 10th Mountain is as much of a mountain division as the 101st is an airborne division, but the fact of the matter is that the 10th Mountain is light infantry, and all light infantry are trained to fight in difficult terrain, including jungle, mountains and snow. Even the 25th Light Infantry Division in Hawaii has mountain warfare training. The difference between the 10th Mountain and the Royal Marines is that the Royal Marines are more like Army Rangers or US Marines - above average soldiers who endure rigorous testing. MEDICUS 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Ok, this has nothing to do with the "10th Mountain Division-Discussion", but i've a question to the Rangers: If i place a Rander (S) with Grenadelauncher (WoodlandCamo) in the editor, he has 5 Mags for the gun and a GrenadeVest (afaik with 24 Grenades for the launcher). But as far as a start playing with this unit, he has no Magazbies, only the 24 Grenades. Do only i have this problem? Is there still an answer (didn't read all pages  )? I think he has just the wrong magazines added (non-silenced instead of silenced). It's the same with the Desert Ranger (S) GL. We mission-makers need HMMWVs to ferry soldiers around Tonal . It's hard to make good urban attack missions with MARFY's unarmed Hummers providing support . The Royal Marines will kick the american marines back to sea when they will ever meet in battle. The USMC is highly trained but is made up mainly of short-timers who stay there for a few years. The British Marines (and the Dutch who are working very close with the British) are mainly proffsional soldiers who stay (in the case of the Dutch) to the age of 35 or longer in the case of ranks higher than that of the the Marine first class. The British and Dutch are closer to the Rangers indeed, but are more a highly specialized force than a true special force though. note; I was not talking about the USMC MFR. I'll do my very best  I have some Coops ready, but they use some other addons, too. not only BAS (VitAPC Pack, G8 Tornado ... some are on custom Islands, some are with BAS Choppers but Marpat units and so on). Mfg MEDICUS Dude, whatever, as long as they are missions, and they work! Thats all that counts. There are "so many" addons, and so few missions to play them. I recon if everyone like yourself, who HAS missions, posted them to places like OFPEC or where-ever, even if you think "they arent good enough" the number of playable missions would easily double. korax 4 Posted April 16, 2004 Ive already seached this topic.. And didnt find any mention of this one "first aid" bug... It happens when you die while using first aid, a couple seconds later (like if you would actually have finished the action) you will suddenly come back to full health, and if its a mission with respawn, after the designated spawn timer you will be whooshed away to your spawn. This is REALLY annoying, especially in DM's where the corpse suddenly comes back to life and shoots you, I bet its just something you forgot in the script but I hope you fix it in the next update... The "standard soldier" will be back in the pack in the next version, so you can have them via setobjecttexture (as explained in the readme) We won't be adding in "set" units to the config to depict such real world divisions at this moment in time. The badgeless soldier was just added to allow you to represent other Units just for the ease of keeping down numbers of addons... and in all fairness the equipment used by Rangers and the rest of the army isn't that dissimiliar... so they work pretty well Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

MLF 0 Posted April 19, 2004 and thats one of the problems Landwarrior, is that you require other addons along with the hyk's soldiers, there great soldier models but they need the proper weapons and classes such as radio man, but everyone should have sucheys marines along with BAS's stuff, but it just takes to long to edit them to get em right.
