Nogovian government?

With all this talk about the creation of a Nogovian defense-force on this forum, I think we could use some more coordination.

I would like to propose a government election. The government would consist of:

- Minister of Finance: investigate the Nogovian financial situation (tax income), and produce a budget for "homeland", "justice", and "defense".

- Minister of Defense: look what options would be reasonable for the budget at hand.

- Prime minister [edit] or president: Coordinate and support the ministries.

These people would make an assesment of what money comes in, how much can be spent on defense, and what options are available.

For each purchase, the ministers would make a list of max. 10 options and hold a referendum on this forum. After all, we all make up the rest of the government and want a say in what to do with our Nogova. The other task for the rest of the forum is to help the ministers in gathering information and advising them.

Candidates that would like to break their teeth on the Nogovian economy are welcome to announce themselves available for the 3 ministries here. Remember: No more than 1 place per candidate.

Don't forget to mention why you would be the best man for the job. Although Nogova is a virtual world, the people want a realistic defense force fitting the local economy. You will have to be able to answer questions about your work.

Is it just me or has this gone a teensy bit far? I mean, fair enough, discuss what the Nogovans could realistically field and afford, but electing someone to make the decisions? No thank you.

I haven't really got a military past, but I've played countless military sims and games of all sorts for quite a while now, and have a broad interest in military technology/affairs, etc...

Good point. That is one of the things to be thought about first: establish timeline. (maybe that idea of a minister of time wasn't that bad after all)

Either way, you sound like a good minister of finance, or prime minister.

The 80s should be preaty strait forward, BIS allready created the base for it. But the modern times could be more interesting.

If someone is really going to work in updating the terrains to modern standarts, how about creating a turist industry.

How about building hotel complexs on the north of Malden, long sandy areas, perhaps build a new town on that area?

Or on the East of Nogova, by the airport? and update the airport?

That area is not too laggy, so something can be build in there and be playable.

The incomes of a turist industry can be extremally big, and some countrys in the world live from it. So that wouldn't be a bad idea.

Some other areas could be rich on oil, maibe Golkujev could be really reach on oil. High terrain with a predominent mountine allmost on the middle, it could be volcanic? rich in minerals? mining industry?

Anybody for the job of creating industrial machinery and workers addons?

The "government" would be nothing more than a team that's making the plans. You won't even get very much power in return, because the rest of us has to vote. I think most serious people here clearly see how much work will be involved in the first place, as there are not many who apply for the job.

About the creation of the add-ons: The main focus should be selecting from existing stuff. My guess is, when the description of the "Official" Nogova is ready, most add-on creators would be happy to stick the Nogova emblem on their add-ons. I know I would. (But what do I know, I'm not going to be in this team either)

The only thing I wanted to do is spark this idea about a group that can really describe how Nogova lives and breathes, without bias from wanting "that one very cool but expensive plane".

I don't have the time to put real effort into it, otherwise Nogova might well have been my own little dictatorship.

Maybe flashpoint1985.com is the wrong place, and should it be posted on some world builders website?

I would love to work together with a few people on deciding how Nogova functions. It's history, the population, current national disputes and things like that.

Also if there are any WRP-editors here apply for the minister of infrastructure job and update Nogova, Everon and Malden with a few more industrial and apartment buildings

LOL! I wouldn't trust someone who posts like that as a Finance Minister.

And Kolgujev is Russian territory, it was established in the CWC campaign and NATO surely woulnd't have kept the little bombed-out island just to piss off the Russians.

(OK so the CWC campaign isn't all that plausible overall anyway.. )
