Milkman 1 Posted December 30, 2003 Today a problem showed up, twice flashpoint crashed and returned an error that looked like this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">CreateIndexBuffer failed 8876017c- out of memory? My computer was not under an intense load or anything, I was just playing around when this happened. Both of the errors occured on Nogova, and I was near a tank when they happened both times. I don't know if that is a coincedence or not, but if someone could tell me what could be causing this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

theavonlady 2 Posted December 30, 2003 How many MBs of addons in your OFP startup? -nomap does not give you a carte blanche to pile on as many as you want.
Placebo 31 Posted December 30, 2003 Your system specs would be a good start, also what landscape setting are you using?
Milkman 1 Posted December 30, 2003 Alright, I have 791 megabytes of addons in my Res- Addon folder. theavonlady 2 Posted December 30, 2003 Alright, I have 791 megabytes of addons in my Res- Addon folder. So split them up by using mod folder and see if that helps.
cactus 0 Posted January 5, 2004 I have had the same problem. Getting the same error message (but on a different adress of course). I noticed it started to apppear when I put in TerrainDetail = High and raised SetViewDistance in Options. As soon as I lowered these the problem ceased to show it's ugly face. I really wonder why I got this problem since my rig should be able to handle High Terrain with atleast 1000 m ViewDistance (Have a P4 2.8Ghz w. GeForce 5900 w 256 Mb) I do have 811 Mb of addons but that didn't appearde to be a problem on my old computer (1800+ AMD w. Gforce 4200) so why should it be one now? /Cactus

Heatseeker 0 Posted January 5, 2004 Quote[/b] ]Landscape_Textures="1024"; Maybe lowering this would also help, only addon that causes this on my machine (amongst other problems) is Tonal island. I havent tried -nomap but has i only have problems with one specific addon i dont think ill bother .
Gadger 0 Posted January 5, 2004 Had the same problem with the shadows from objects and vehicles, for some reason they caused hell on my puter with high graphic settings, knocked them off and no more out of memory errors

Terrain textures could be the problem now that I think of it (thanks Heatseeker) because the crashes occured when I was zooming in on something very fast from a far distance away, meaning my computer probably overloaded when trying to show the textures.
