Are we talking about a true line of site blockage for the AI?

Doesn't that add a lot of lag?

Mwah, If I remember correctly Jojimbo said the fields will be configured as forrest cells, thereby reducing lag significantly. But, if you have any questions or suggestions for these fields, I suggest you go to the invasion44 forums.

It's part of a mod, it'll be out when they release the next demo (Or, when they release the full version wow_o.gifbiggrin_o.gifsmile_o.gif ).

Is this the right place to discuss the released beta grass?

Well, my opinion about that is, it looks great but you can't fight in it. sad_o.gif I don't know the technical side of how it is created to reduce lag, etc. but when you fire or throw grenades, about every other shot ends up impacting/exploding in the middle of the field! sad_o.gif

It's because the bullet touches some part of the grass that's part of some technical...thingamajig. Also, I was doing a recreation of the grass ambush in Saving Private Ryan...after I hit a halftrack with a bazooka round all the Germans, who were wounded in the legs and couldn't stand, poured out of the vehicle and lay down in the grass and started shooting at me. The thing is, I couldn't hit them and they couldn't hit me! sad_o.gif

Damn OFP engine...

They could give the grass the characteristics of glass, breakable, but not bullet absorbing. But not the transparency or Avon becomes angry biggrin_o.gif

No no no no, this is an entirely different grass addon. The other grass was an un-official addon and therefor has nothing to do with this grass. I suspect grenades will work properly in these fields because ofp treats these fields like a forrest.

wow, that looks really great. And the movie that came along promises something cool for missions, also involving AI. Let's just hope this is as good as it looks. Great job! smile_o.gif

Man those are some sweeet looking screens wow_o.gif I really can't wait smile_o.gif

All that the various WW2 units needed was a good 'home' island to fight it out on, and this one looks amazing. Good job!

Oh and Acecombat, AI do sometimes attempto to go through forests, and it really pisses me off lol...

Whats the LAG count in here too btw i mean a whol islandwith such fields scattered could bring the downfall of our PC's ... i mean 10-25 individual grass addons placed from that release earlier do bring down FPS quite a bit and with some units on the map its Matrix fever crazy_o.gif

Oh ok, sorry. But it is under I44 in the editor.

And those pics are looking great! Especially that sniper...hoowee! Great that some high-quality Eastern Front stuff is being made. smile_o.gif
