Consigliere 0 Posted December 15, 2003 Well actuallly AFAIK the pilot is in command...The pilot is always in command no matter what type of aircraft he is flying. To quote from a book I am currently reading : Quote[/b] ]The pilot is in command of the aircraft at all times. He is responsible for everyone on board. His commands must be obeyed immediately. He alone decides how many men can be carried, and when and how they will enter and leave the aircraft. For operational reasons, he transmits his orders through the stick commander I realise that this extract is referring to the pilot of a transport helicopter, but I assume it is basically the same for an attack helicopter. waffendennis 0 Posted December 15, 2003 ok ok the pilot is gunner now. So now it only haves: BAS SOAR pilots and new Sounds

Helifreak 0 Posted December 15, 2003 Thnx Waffendennis, but I´ll fix that in an update with a few other things that I´ve noticed myself.....BAS isn´t so happy about the idea with putting the soars in an apache.... I´ll release a final version on christmas, perhaps even with new BAS apache model, with working dampers, moving cockpitdoors, moving visual systems, and so on....so just wait a little :P MfG Helifreak
tankieboy 0 Posted December 15, 2003 ok ok the pilot is gunner now. So now it only haves: BAS SOAR pilots and new Sounds Can you tell me please how to edit the cpp so the gunner is commander. I don't care if its real or not as its only for my use. I just cant stand the target this, fire and what not. Also to moving when in contact arrrrh! Nixer6 0 Posted December 15, 2003 I don't mean to dismiss Helifreaks efforts here....but there is no such thing as a black Apache.Apache's are difficult to capture on film: its quirky shade of paint (FS 34031 Army Helo Drab) appears to shift color when lighting conditions change and its black legends over the dark green paint are virtually impossible to read from distances beyond 15 meters. What color is this? edit: 2nd image, over 100K http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/ah-64a-991680a.jpg To quote the great Avon.....read my post. What was that part about capturing on film? Trust me...it aint black....you want me to drag some Apache maintenance crew in here to prove it? Â OK, not black, but what then? Here are some pics my husband took locally. Some of my pics are of Apaches and show them to be some very dark shade bordering on black. edit: your paintchip looks like next-to-black dark gray. Talk about differnet monitors and colors That paint chip looks like a very dark GREEN to me. NBD though.

Tigershark_BAS 0 Posted December 16, 2003 Thnx Waffendennis, but I´ll fix that in an update with a few other things that I´ve noticed myself.....BAS isn´t so happy about the idea with putting the soars in an apache....I´ll release a final version on christmas, perhaps even with new BAS apache model, with working dampers, moving cockpitdoors, moving visual systems, and so on....so just wait a little   :P MfG Helifreak Wait.....I never said I had a problem with putting SOARS in there.....look...its your addon and the SOARS are to be used by the community....do whatever you want. I said to you Helifreak I wouldn't give you a model for the SOARS. In my opinion though....the SOARS look out of place in the Apache as the pilots do not need NVGs...or wear BDUs...they wear plain Olive Drab flight suits.
Helifreak 0 Posted December 16, 2003 Oh, then I had really problems understanding what you write me in the Email *g*.....I thought never about editing your soars ;P I just wanted to define them as default crew....ok good if you allow me to do that, they really look good in the Apache ;P I hope to get the Apache model as soon as possible (I know your time is limited), because I plan to finish it till christmas. regards Helifreak
Baphomet 0 Posted December 16, 2003 I'm glad to see the old BIS units are getting a bit of new life breathed into them as they're still perfectly decent for what they were made for IMO. You know it'd be cool if someone retextured and or modified a BIS uh-60 so it had all the BAS blackhawk scripts *hint* *nudge* *nudge* *bludgeon* =P
Tigershark_BAS 0 Posted December 16, 2003 Ummmm...isnt that what our standard UH60 was for in the Blackhawk pack???
Lupus-WD- 0 Posted December 16, 2003 who asked for a black AH1 ? this is with standard bis ah1 and silesian's ah64,both unedited should work the same with standard bis ah64 but didnt test how it looks... this was done without editing the textures but by tweaking my little modification. available for test on my page: http://wolfdog.online.fr/ofp/gallery/ I included the "black/dark" helo mod in a standard editorupdate102.pbo for ease of use. All you have to do is put it in the addons or res\addons and check you dont have another one in another active mod... I will fine tune this later and upload a better looking black version of them later on (maybe tonight)... i just threw it as a test.
Consigliere 0 Posted December 16, 2003 How do you use these?
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted December 16, 2003 Don´t understand me wrong, but I did not like this "shining" on vehicles. It looks a little bit like plastic to me. MfG Lee
Lupus-WD- 0 Posted December 16, 2003 How do you use these? simply put the editorupdate102.pbo in your addons folder, and that's it, use ofp as you would normally... (check you dont have another occurence of editorupdate102.pbo in another active mod...) Quote[/b] ]LHO: Don´t understand me wrong, but I did not like this "shining" on vehicles. It looks a little bit like plastic to me. I understand you well, but, real life "shines" even if all material in my modification dont actually shine but have lighting effects like specular lighting. Now, the shining on the materials depends also on your gamma/brightness balance. Plus, if i would have more realistic lighting effects a lot of people would find them too much... I 'll even tone them down later for most of them, making them a lot less realistic, that is a lot less "plastic toy" like ;) But, eh, it's ok with me if you don't like it, i was just proposing the custom mod i use to play with to the general public
SILESIAN 0 Posted December 16, 2003 It looks a little bit like  to me. Maybe little like plastic but fantastic  Lupus its great idea for changing - maybe you should correct some efects and its will BINGO.
kevbaz 0 Posted December 16, 2003 well i thkn its cool, ive used it to replace the standar bis one completly, nice work
Consigliere 0 Posted December 16, 2003 I'd like to replace the standard BIS Apache with the black retextured one...But I don't know how to? Could someone be so kind as to tell me how? Thanks

Maybe little like plastic but fantastic [...] Lupus its great idea for changing - maybe you should correct some efects and its will BINGO. it's far from finished, but you can also have a look at what sebnam uh1's, ah1's(they are not really good, but, too many face errors on the p3d's to put a lot of time on them), bas mh60, bis ch47d, bis A10, hinds (lot of work needed here to... later), bis humvees and a few other details look like now. (i've uploaded the last version i made for tonight - date: 17 dec 2003)

Consigliere 0 Posted December 16, 2003 There once was a grey AH-64 For OFP? Because I've never seen a grey Apache IRL @KEVBAZ: Yeah that'd be great, thanks Ah but wait...I don't know if Hotmail can accept such a 'large' file I know that maximum attachment size that you can send is about a meg, dunno about what the max size of received attachments is though. Baphomet 0 Posted December 17, 2003 Yeah. A behemoth at 22 mb, not to mention it obviously takes more memory and is higher def than I really need as far as looks are concerned. Sorry BAS guys I like the fact that you make interesting addons, but I simply wanted a -basic- low sys req, Blackhawk with all the fancy scritpy bells and whistles. I don't need 3d windshield wipers to enjoy ofp. If you guys don't want to do it. I'm just saying. Let someone else port all that cool stuff over to a more cpu friendly model.
