Harnu 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Well, it is Thanksgiving day today here in the states, so keeping to tradition I'd like to thank all the United States Armed Servicemen.  For their courage to step up to the plate and be there if their country needs them, and kicking ass when they are needed.  And unless an Iraqi milita attacks with donkeys, I hope you can keep kicking ass in Iraq  Special thanks to all you guys in the Marines/Army/Airforce/Navy/etc. that are on this board. Thank you

shinRaiden 0 Posted November 27, 2003 I for one am thankful for the mom who thought I worked at a certain computer store last year and asked me for a suggested game for her son. I grabbed 2 boxes off the shelf, (and one happened to be CWC, the other bf1942) and cooked up a sales pitch on the spot that sold her everything OFP on the spot. I realized then I had sold myself too, and bought it, and RES shortly afterwards. Thank you BIS first and formost, and thank you to ALL the mod-makers. But most of all, those real johnnys who go out and lay it all on the line for all of us every day. God bless you, and Anchor's Away.

ralphwiggum 6 Posted November 27, 2003 Happy Turkey-Day everybodyMy parents and I are going out to a restaurant to eat for Thanksgiving. there is a restaurant open on Thanksgiving day? I think I'll buy turkey drumsticks for supper tonight. My husband used to tell the little ones that they're brontosaurus legs. is that Kosher? I'm thankful for the flightless bird I'm going to be dining on in about 15 hours. reminds me of a lesser known South Park skit that was featured on Leno when SP was the hottest thing on TV in their first year. Quote[/b] ]Leno: I want to know what you guys are thankful for this season. Cartman: I'm thankful for stuffing and (can't remember other one). Kyle: You wouldn't say that, fat ass! Cartman: I'm not fat! I'm big boned! Kyle: No, Jay Leno's chin is big boned. You are just a fat ass! Cartman and Kyle start exchanging insults Leno: (angry)Hey Hey! Look up here. I came here to talk to you little foul-mouthed brats cause those idiot executives at NBC says cute gives us good ratings! You mean money in my pocket so shut the hell up and we are talking about joys of thanksgiving! Now you, the fat kid. Cartman: I'm not fat, I'm big boned. Leno: (angry)I don't care! and Mr Garrison's introduction of Leno. Quote[/b] ]To tell us about Thanksgiving, all the way from the pagan state of California, Mr. Jay Leno! Badgerboy 0 Posted November 27, 2003 In that respect, do Americans have a 'Boxing day'? Generally we have the day after Christmas off, and have another big meal and celebration again. Traditionally, on boxing day, the masters of the house would swap roles with their servants and serve them their meals etc, but were not supposed to have slav... servants any more. (Although I do want a butler called Jeeves at some point in my life)

Brontosaurus? No. But I'm not too worried about the kids growing up and buying bronto burgers at the local fastfood joint.

Cpt. Bazikian-5thSFG- 0 Posted November 27, 2003 @Frenchman: sry to hear that @everyone: Happy thanksgiving, i'm thankful for all the modmakers, BIS, codemasters, and the whole OFP scene and community for their continuing support and evolution of this game. Oh, and to those leathernecks, zoomies, squids, and dogs in Iraq too.
Baron von Beer 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Bronto burgers? Rest assured, they're in the mail... With all the Genetically modified food today.... Someone is bound to realise that per animal, a Brontosaur is gonna provide a tad more meat than your run of the mill cow/buffalo/elephant/whale... I'm thankful there is still a holiday with something besided commercial purpose in the US.... Sure, there is some commercialism geared towards it, but it is all optional, and not the driving force. As for Boxing day, most here in the US would think that is the night of the big fight on HBO/pay-per-view. There are a few of us that know that it has nothing to do with 2 large men beating the hell out of oneanother.
crewcutkid reincarnated! 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Happy Thanksgiving, folks! For the cable-availiable and car lovers among us, American Muscle Car is on Speed Channel today. Enjoy all food consumed on this day, eh? Save me some cranberry salad. -Crew
blackdog~ 0 Posted November 28, 2003 Twas out in Palm Desert for a mid-day dinner today and found myself in a sticky situation on the way back home... some kind of wild animal (yes, wild) were protesting or something in a field so I took some pics of them. Silly gooses... erm, not gooses, but you know what I mean. (got these pics by chance) view down from mountain into palm desert on the road home ash is still over san diego county as i encountered in this valley
