gandalf the white 0 Posted November 1, 2003 dudes, i'm back again (as if you noticed i was gone ) and with me i have the most idiotic suggestion!! offcourse EVERYONE knows that the most important part of the game itself is the installation! so what about a contest to make THE most intresting / fun installation program for OFP2? something with pictures, voices, a briefing, or maybe actually a fullscreen program itself? like Red Alert 2 did,and when the program is installing maybe get a weaponlist where you can get some background information on vietnam or something, or with a nice tune to get in the mood for playing (on the PC that is ) this might be your chance to work on OFP 2 !!! atleast.... if the admins think it's a good idea... theavonlady 2 Posted November 1, 2003 I would prefer that BIS not waste a moment's time on doing anything fancier than the respectable installer they implemented for OFP so far. Installers have zero replay value, IMO.
gandalf the white 0 Posted November 1, 2003 Installers have zero replay value, IMO. still, id would be nice to make it a little contest, both party's benefit, BIS get's a nice installer, the creator get's bragging rights (and baybe a OFP2 T shirt? )
PainDealer 0 Posted November 1, 2003 gotta agree with the lady. I just need an installer that puts the game on my comp the way I want it to be installed that's all.
KTM_Calle 0 Posted November 1, 2003 I think the OFP 1 installer was kind of nice, with some music and bla bla in the background, maybe some fancy screenshots from the game would be nice though
Snypa UK 0 Posted November 2, 2003 The resistance installer was quite cool as well but the CWC one reigns supreme
gandalf the white 0 Posted November 2, 2003 the only bad thing about it was that you couln't turn off that music, wich was pretty annoying when you already had your own music running
ozanzac 0 Posted November 2, 2003 the only bad thing about it was that you couln't turn off that music, wich was pretty annoying when you already had your own music running , You were missing out on the full experience that is, installing flashpoint! I liked the installers, but especially CWC, it was just right in my opinion, it added atmosphere to the installation and made me want to rip into the game ASAP. At least the flashpoint installers did have some atmosphere, unlike many a game around at the time.
Jo Man Dragon 0 Posted November 3, 2003 yeah, cwc installer was best installer i ever saw...great atmosphere and nice to get into the theme, communism and so on....
