Does anyone know how you make shadows for weapons???

Don't need to make them,your model needs less than 300 faces to generate one

Put in "named properties" a selection named "lodnoshadow" , "1" for any visual lod that has more then 300 faces

Whoa let me get this straight. So I put in the lods, visual ones, that have over 300 faces, lodnoshadow and then 1??

Jeez, so i'd bassically put lodnoshadow in all of them except the low polly lods

In fact more than ~500 (at least for vehicles) - some mine models have around 480 faces in the shadow lod and the shadow is still visible. (Of course it's not very good for performance but sometime you just have to use more faces ;)

I have also seen weapons where i could not find a LOD whit under 300 and it still had a shadow so you maybe right.

I have searched high and low for examples - zilch sad_o.gif

Is there a tut on shads ?? and plz dont say OfpEc coz I tried to DL theirs and no go. sad_o.gif

am only following up from your origional post which I found in search for shadows. As for why its in this section in the first place had me stumped aswell

Fine i'll just answer anyhow. What you have to do is put the noshadow command with your lods that have the highest point and face count. Then make a low polly model that is specifically ment for the shadow. Make sure it has all the details and no mistakes or it will look a little crappy. Also try and keep the point and face count down!
