redhawk_six 0 Posted October 2, 2003 It is on topic, Tim Hortons is an important part of Canadian Culture. Also all missions we are going to make for this island will start off at the Tim's or the objective will be to defend the Tim's from mongrel communist hordes. That deserves a rare 'LMAO' from me. Â Everything in Canada starts or ends at Tim Horton's. In fact, I met members of our RCMP's ERT (swat team) at Tim Horton's in Vancouver... they pulled in with 3 black Suburbans, wearing black uniforms and low contrast RCMP badges, and pistols. Â Wasn't awake enough to notice what pistols they had, as I hadn't gotten my coffee yet. Â They were on their way for training somewhere. They probably would have been carrying S&W 9mm's. The RCMP has them customized, including a little RCMP Musical Ride emblem engraved on the gun. The map looks great guys, can't wait to play it!
HotShot 0 Posted October 2, 2003 I've never heard of "Tim Hortons" before seeing this, but i gather they are some sort of dohnut shop which seems to be very close to Canadians hearts (much like the blood clottages from eating so many  ). But back to the primary topic at hand, how big is the island gonna be? And how long till its gonna be released? And can you enlighten us alittle more on this second island being made by the guy with alot of #'s. EG. Where is it set? (Canada i take it, but will it also have a European feel to it like u say the Prairie will), etc, etc.

It will be North American style, especially the urban areas. The second island is out campaign island called Slavonia. It's a fictional Baltic country which will be used for our campaign. It's almost complete, just needs some tidying up and it will be released with the campaign. Prairie island looks about a month away or so and will be in the 35-45 MB size range, due mostly to custom objects.
Guest #### Posted October 2, 2003 And remember Slavonia will be better than Prairie. Tim Hortons is indeed a donut shop. http://www.timhortons.com/ The first store was opened in Hamilton in 1964. Tim Horton was a legendary figure in the National Hockey League. If Tim Horton were alive today he would kick all your asses for not knowing who he is and not liking his coffee and donuts. bn880 5 Posted October 2, 2003 Well he cartainly would try, I mean he was after all a Hockey player. We all know how full of respect and professionalism Hockey is. Wait where is the smile without teeth. What kind of Canadian is Bn880, doesn't like Tim Hortons and Hockey.
Guest #### Posted October 2, 2003 Well you would be a Torontonian then, they are all freaks, not really Canadians. Torotonians are into Krispy Kreme donuts and having Swedish players play for the Maple Leafs.

Quote[/b] ]Anyway it's about the size of Nogova but it strays from European style to a more North American style terrain. Anyway, sounds good.

doc1011 0 Posted October 6, 2003 I'd just like to say that i've been able to mess around on the island and seen the progress Powerslide has made. This Island is great, it really does give the feel that your in Canada. The section that resembles the canadian north is beautiful and having been in the north numerous times i can say it's a spiting image. The town is coming along very quickly and has the feel of um... Airdrie! That small town north of Calgary, it's kind of a suburban city off on it's own. The farms look good so far, being a farmer i had to give Power some critism on it but it's looking very nice. Overall it's one great island and I can't wait to make some fun missions on it. In fact i've allready made one
