stgn 39 Posted September 26, 2003 Why not use SJBs reaction units as part of a Nogovan police project, with a little bit of work they could be turned into an all purpose internal security paramilitary force. those are modern units... he is keeping the feel of a poorer police force, one back in the late 70's and 80's. Therefor those are to new.. and to western looking. Why dos it has to be back in the 70's/80's it could be today and stil be a poor police force or what for from what I am seeing there ain't a date in the reedme. but don't use SJBs reaction force. Dark Knight 0 Posted September 26, 2003 if u havent notice on nogova there isn any modern buildings or vehicles nor weapons plus he is keeping to the time line so they dont stand out from the others thats y
Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted September 26, 2003 Even the poorest countries have one well equipped unit usually for internal suppression, I never said use his weapons just the models. Nogova is not a third world country, and if you look up the police and military/paramilitary forces of any second world country you'll find a small quite modern looking force. Dark Knight 0 Posted September 26, 2003 but are they from the 70s/80s time?
dm 9 Posted September 26, 2003 Well.. since the original game is set in 1985, and the Resistance campaign is set before that, then I'd say, yes, they are set in the 70's/80's... I'll re-iterate what I said before, I WILL NOT be making any form of special reaction or SWAT units. And I am also trying to keep the feel of Nogova/Malden/Everon/Kolgujev being "lived on" islands, with a suitable police force, matching the style of the original BIS units. Not a modern one "planted" on the island.
Dark Knight 0 Posted September 26, 2003 well i havea mission in the works for use with these critters its a simple prissioner transfer which goes wrong.. the bus carrying the prissioners gets rambed by a Russian BRDM and the prissioners escape and its ure job using Air recon from a chopper to locate them in a certain area of nogova as all the roads are blocked off they cant get any farther then the river its gonna be quite long and for some it may get broing but meh i didnt say it was gonna be exciting i just need that bus
Uncle_Sam 0 Posted September 26, 2003 For a Campaign i would work for a mission to long, but you will need mission makers, story line(you got one), Sound Files and of cours nice crook suits DM Your To mystirous i know your planning something big i can feel it
Dark Knight 0 Posted September 26, 2003 i guess it could be a campaing and have each mission on one criminal and to not get repetitive the criminals will different skills and different crimes so each mission will be different.. somehow... but im not good with campaigns and my mission are not that spectacular.. but they are when i get motivation and am concentrated on one thing we will see
Munk 0 Posted September 26, 2003 Winter it would be also cool if you make a day in a criminals life...so the opposite  Im working on a mission like that. Your part of a (very well funded) local gang and two of your mates have been arrested. You have to covertly take out a poorly defended vehical impound lot and steal a police car to slip inside Petrovice unnoticed, attack the compound where they're being held and run away to a safe house. It'll take me ages, I can get about half an hours work in a day if im lucky
Landwarrior87 0 Posted September 26, 2003 well my mission is going to be on the crook side too.. but mine will be a lil less advanced i think to come in and then the res side already detects u as enemy so they start shooting.. my mission will start as you a spy for the soviets, uve been captured and have taken out 2 police officers transporting you to the airport to be deported, the siren would be going already in the car you took over.. ill have it locked so u cant get in.. (just for realistic feel) then your mission will be to get to Northern part of nogova where to soviet police have juristicion.. various police cars will come your way.. get out and shoot at you.. but your biggest problem is Nogova Policie Dept.'s Anti Riot team "NPDRT". You stand no chance against dozens of well trained police officers, some Ex-soldiers equipped with assualt rifles. You and your Handgun will have to create some angles between your enemies and make it back to Northern Nogova for Mother Russia! Probablly about 3 or 4 advancing jeeps or Gaz'24 to your location.. then youll run into a small FIA patrol.. and then the a big problem a road block in your path.. (BRDM and UAZ barricading the road.) And a little further after that, you'll hit Cpt. James Jones (Leader & Captain of the NPDRT). Maybe 2 squads of 5. With FN-FALs, HK G3A3's, and some CZ AK47's. edc 0 Posted September 27, 2003 Are you still working on a police bus?
sniper_guy 0 Posted September 28, 2003 How about the police chopper? I know you mentioned it somewhere... ages ago i attempted a police chopper with a spotlight which fixed on targets (like the car chases) Plus, is there anyway to modify the night vison goggles to thermal imaging goggles? (again, like the car chases) Just suggestions... Hope your not 2 mad
GoOB 0 Posted September 28, 2003 Thermal imaging goggles, that sounds about right for a low budget police force during the 70's / 80's And also I don't think that you can attach light sources to "turrets" or pivot points.
dm 9 Posted September 28, 2003 Are you still working on a police bus? Yup and about seachlights and helicopters, Goob is correct, you can't put "targetable" searchlights on anything, because the memory points can't be manipulated just another game engine limitation I'm afraid.
Dark Knight 0 Posted September 28, 2003 its only a limitation coz they never thought of doing it.. meaning if we want any of this to be able to happen we need to bug bis to add it into OFP2
Uncle_Sam 0 Posted September 28, 2003 DM why not create a GAZ-24 in the shape of a Station Wagon where in the back Two Dogs are sitting, not real like get out dog or something just a picture of them
