Tex -USMC- 0 Posted September 25, 2003 I also hate this tactic of making the topic titles seem like legit emails:"Re: Hi!" "Re: Important Meeting" "Did you forget our meeting?" "Important - password change" I really wish the geeks who make worms and other viruses would do something useful and infect all the spam mail servers in the world with some crippling virus... My current favorite is an email from my good friend bigger4real@big.com, apparently replying to an email that I had sent him, telling about how my significant other finds my manhood less than adequate. In fact, I can tell this because the subject line is the very tactful "She said you were shit in bed??" hehe. I'm glad I have concerned friends who won't hesitate to help me find my way to a thicker, longer, and healthier penis.

Placebo 29 Posted September 25, 2003 I used to trace the IP address and send really really nasty vicious replies to admin/abuse@ at the ISP and webhost that the spam comes from telling them in no uncertain terms what I would do to them if they ever spammed me again. A number of times I actually got really grovelling apologies back, but I'm far too nice a person to do that these days and simply delete them
walker 0 Posted September 25, 2003 Hi Placebo Wow your a Sheff Wednesday fan You a neighbour then? I am from Conisborough. I still send emails to abuse@where-ever.somat but my spam has gone down of recent I managed to get two spammer blackholed. Mostly I suffer from stupid atempts by crackers; why I dont know this machine has nothing on it. The CoC stuff is mostly on servers outside the UK so it cant be that. I managed to get one of the crackers caught he was in Canada I dont think he has an internet conection anymore the ISP got back to me to say he had been dealt with. My current problem is pinging which is now stopped at the first firewall. From its dispersion accross many IP addresses I think its some new virus. Anyway usual message off to CERT and let them track it. It does disrupt OFP MP a bit but I guess it will disapear. Kind Regards Walker

I would love to do this and get these spammers in as much hot water with their ISPs as possible. ...although...there was a story on spam email on a local radio station recently, and one guy they interviewed had been kicked off something like 12 ISPs but just kept signing up with new ones to keep his spam business alive. SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted September 26, 2003 I actually get 0 spam with Comcast.I don't even have any any anti spam software. But when I had AOL, now thats a diffrent story...About 40 a day.
Major Fubar 0 Posted September 26, 2003 Well, I've got 2 accounts with the same free web-based mail provider. One I only use to send and receive mails from trusted sources. The other I use for trial software signups, site accesses etc etc. The first has like about 1 spam email per week, the second has roughly 20 per day. The moral of this lesson: if you give your addy out to any company or individual you dont know ,odds are they will add you to the big-book-of spam and sell your details to spammers. Guest DKM-jaguar Posted September 28, 2003 I saw this topic... i started to get angry... i calmed down.. I used to get 50 spam emails a day..now not even they will email me hehe I did something similar to replying to thier emails. I received one which said "Hey, do you want to receive a univesity diploma without all the fuss of moving your ass and earning it?" (i think i made up that ending.) I wish they sent mail like "500 ways to convince your parents to buy you this: http://www.bbguns.co.uk/acatalog/8840.jpg http://www.bbguns.co.uk/acatalog/31644.jpg
