Footmunch 0 Posted September 16, 2003 Sorry, I was away yesterday - real life and all that. Point by point: 1) I can make the Sandy roundel-capable fairly quickly. The only reason I didn't is because the huge majority of them (or at least this model) were used by the USAF. Again, sorry about the Napalm, but you _will_ see a Napalm-equipped Sandy at some point in the future. 2) Drak Re-skin - It'll be at least a week before the cockpit of the Drak is finalised, so keep working on the re-paints. 3) Drak size - it seems as though the Drak is almost exactly the right size, but OFP is sometimes a bit odd when it comes to dimensions. It might be a little small... 4) Austrian roundel added to pack. Not posted yet. 5) SXEP - I know the Austrian version means alot to you, but please let make it clear (I guess via a ReadMe) that it is a _beta_ and they will have to get it again if they want the released version. Afterburner is on, and works fine in testing. 6) MODS vs Singletons - I can't join a mod team. It would be too much like work. 7) If SFP want to take the addon further, that's fine. Probably best to wait until the final version, and then chop and change from that point on. PM me for any other info. 8) I apologise to all the Swedes about the spelling. It is purely my ignorance. 9) Squared roundels - This is to do with the way setobjecttexture works, I think. It seems as though it uses a couple of mip levels down from 0. I'll keep trying a few things to fix this, but I don't hold out much hope.
Wonder 0 Posted September 16, 2003 There's an aviation museum here in Jyväskylä, with a cockpit of a finnish J35 Draken (you need to correct the name by the way). I can take some photos of it for textures some day if you want.
Sxep 0 Posted September 16, 2003 Quote[/b] ]4) Austrian roundel added to pack. Not posted yet. Cool thank you mate!...Oh you want me to remove the DL form my post? no problem..just tell me straight Uhm...i think the Size is fine..don´t make it bigger. Better make it smaller then bigger in my eyes... And about the textures..could you asign the white parts of the cockpit and the engine to the main Side texture? That would look better i think, but if its much work..don´t bother on that...just keep up your good work.
Footmunch 0 Posted September 19, 2003 Small update: Roundel pack updated with Austria. Details at: Home page 'Final Beta's MiG-27 and MiG-23: MiG-23 MiG-27 The -27 has a loadout script - if you want rocket pods rather than the Kerry's, use the command: this exec "\rktmig27\addrockets.sqs" to the init line. The -23 uses the same scripting/roundel code as the -27, ie [this, 345] exec "\rktmig23\number.sqs" sets the designation, and this setobjecttexture[0, "\rktroundels\r_hungary.paa"] sets the roundel. Slow progress on the Drak, the numbering/roundel works, and the AB is on: Pipeline: Douglas A-26 Invader - Solid nose model with 75mm cannon - VERY early textures - Four blade prop is wrong. Sxep 0 Posted September 19, 2003 wow thank you very much footmunch for the roundel! I will try it right away  EDIT: Back from test flyt They are breath taking! the models are now really almost perfect! and the mig23 ..SOOO sweat!! And the Cockpit is also getting better and better. hellfish6 7 Posted September 19, 2003 Only issues I found with the MiG-23 was that the map icon was the same as the A-10, when it could probably use the same one that the MiG-27 has. Also, there is no command icon for the MiG-23. Everything else with the -23 and -27 seems to work very well, though.
BATPBC 0 Posted September 19, 2003 Great work!!! Can you make a desert version of the Mig-23 with the same loadout as the Mig-27? That would be perfect.
reconmercs 0 Posted September 19, 2003 BATPBC, the Mig 23 is the fighter version of the 27 so adding the same loadout would kinda defeat the purpose...these are great addons though no, make that AMAZING addons...
BATPBC 0 Posted September 20, 2003 The MiG-23 series served as fighter-interceptors, with a secondary capability of ground attack. Armament Cannon: GSh-23L 23mm AS-7 Kerry, UV-16-57, FAB-500, AA-7, ,AA-8, AA-10, AA-11 but thanks for trying to correct me
GoOB 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Whoa! I just tried the MIG23 and MIG27 out... I am speachless they are simply great! The textures on the MIG-27 are exquisite. The MIG-27 is one of the best, if not the best fixed wing aircraft addons The only things I feel missing are: SetObjectTexture capable aircraft numbers on the MIG-27 and MIG-23. And perhaps a SetObjectTexture capable squad roundel for the MIG-27. Slightly improved cockpits for both the MIG-23 and the MIG-
Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Quote[/b] ]The MiG-23 series served as fighter-interceptors, with a secondary capability of ground attack Actually certain MiG-23 types (MiG23B, MiG23BN, MiG23BK and MiG23BM all with reporting name Flogger-F) were specifically built for ground attack as interim solutions pending the development of the MiG27 no other Flogger types were intended to have any AS or strike capability. Sxep 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Quote[/b] ]SetObjectTexture capable aircraft numbers on the MIG-27  It is posible to change it´s numbers   Even to arabic  EDIT: FM you ever thought of making a good Pilot helmet with Oxy mask just an idea
GoOB 0 Posted September 20, 2003 It is, I must have missed something big..... Even regular forum members miss important info it seems
Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted September 20, 2003 More greatwork, the MiG-23 handles much like I'd expect (hint read this months AFM thats where I got my expectations if yopu know what I mean), in Combat against 3 F/A-18Cs (Radishville) 5 floggers faired surprisingly well in slash and dash attacks (much in the way the Soviets expected the MLE+s to), however on one to one dogfighting even your humble F-5E ran circles around it (as it should be). Not a big fan of the colourscheme personally I'd prefer something like the airsuperiority grey on Polands fleet. Any progress on the loadout scripting? Perhaps multiple AAM combinations might become available for floggers, would you need to rework all your previous addons to make them compatible with such a script. Eviscerator 0 Posted September 22, 2003 Any chance of a missile camera script? Or maybe just incorporate it into the bomb camera script, so that when its turned on it follows the missiles too, i think it would be really cool to see both the missiles and bombs track to target. That sounds like a Petagon idea for a PR stunt. But i think it'll be a good idea imagine what you can do in cut scenes with something like that.
Footmunch 0 Posted September 22, 2003 SXEP - I'll include the skin as a Woodland camo scheme in the final, if that's okay. Evis - Missile camera scripting is _very_ possible. The bomb script just uses a 'switchCamera' command with the new missile through the fired EH. It then waits for the missile to be 'not alive' and switches back to the player. IY - This -23 is the A2A, the -27 is the A2G. Multiple AAM loadouts aren't very useful IMHO. The -23 carries 'dogfighting' missiles only because BVR is not really applicable to the maps we have. GooB - Both the -23 and -27 have settable roundels, as well as numbering code. Check earlier in the thread for the MiG-17 scripting - it works in exactly the same way. I'll also include the script commands in the readme's that will go with the final addons (some time this week).
reconmercs 0 Posted September 22, 2003 are there soviet markings in the roundel pack...I was gonna make some missions with the -27 but can't seem to find any soviet markings...thanks in advance...

GoOB 0 Posted September 22, 2003 Oh, I just thought of another small detail to further enhance the MIG-27. What about some sort of optic for the bomb-camera? I don't know if it is possible but it would be cool to have some sort of "optic" for the bomb-camera when in first person mode. So you feel that you are watching the bombs camera from a TV screen in the aircraft. Might not be very realistic but it would be very cool
