Pst! 1.92beta is out!

Recommended Posts

One more question at bis/suma: can you tell already if the final patch will be "only" a new executable or if something else (especially config.bin) will get changed? Or is it too early to say for sure?

I agree with KeyCat, 1.92 is great. I guess we are lucky that 1.91 still had that "partition cleaning" problem so that 1.92 could be made tounge_o.gif

It is very likely final patch will be distributed as and updated 1.91 distibution, so that it can be applied directly over 1.75.

It is also very likely that the only file changed since 1.91 will be the exe file.

Moreover it is also very likely that this exe will be available separatelly as a "beta" release before. Therefore advanced user who do not want to download whole 1.9x upgrade again will be able to download exe only.

However, I can make no guarentees until the things are really done.

great news... i upgraded my 1.91 only with the .exe (thx benu) because the patch didn´t work for me... so please make the final patch available as .exe  rock.gif

It should, as resistance can afaik be installed over cwc v1.0, which has no addons folder in the first place ;)

That's how I found out that ofp\addons-folder is not in use by res.

I keep BIS-addons in ofp\res\addons\ and all usermade ones in ofp\addons\ just to make it look a little more tidy (easier whenever I delete an addon etc) smile_o.gif

My first impression is that maps are loaded a lot faster and overall there's less cpu load, which was starting to become a bigger and bigger problem with 1.91 for me and I think it also was what was causing my crashes. Very nice to get rid of that, thanks for your great support BIS smile_o.gif

Suma/BIS, a few things you may want to take a look at:

First, something about a respawn problem when killed in an armored vehicle driven by an AI: Respawning in mp, after being killed in a vehicle .

Also, there's a possible unintended behaviour of preset param1 and param2 values in a dedicated server config not overriding the default values of a mission's description.ext: Cti dedicated server

Thirdly, the "laser designator not really usable in MP": Laser in mp not working

Number four, and last: the Bradley is blind, unlike all the other tanks/IFV:s. It has irScanRangeMin and Max set to 0 due to the M113 having that. Giving it back the 500/4000 m limits from class Tank would put it on par with the others and, I believe, improve the game immensely. It's an easy fix. Don't know how it will affect any official missions/campaigns, though.

Just thought I'd collect them here in what looks to be (one of) the 1.92 beta report thread(s).

Regards.

Running the EXE file in the zip file should produce a new EXE file named FLASHPOINT192BETA.EXE. That's the file to run to play OFP 1.92.

MAke a shortcut to the file called FLASHPOINT192BETA.EXE, not the patch-file smile_o.gif

The patch creates that new file in your OFP-installation-directory.

A required .DLL file, IFC22.DLL, was not found.

Smells like corupted installation or Directx to me

That DLL file is one that has something to do with directX...

I remember having the same problem with an other game before, but the only thing I did was downloading the file and putting it in the right place (under windows somwhere)...

I am sure that you will find instruktions somewhere, I found them on a forum somewhere I don't remember where...

Can someone who knows more exactly what to do fill in here...

And well, good luck... smile_o.gif

I cannot say that I know much about computers but I also have a Logitech mouse MX500. I found that I also had problems with the scroll middle button. I solved it by uninstalling the software that comes with the product.
