Alex_LT 16 Posted September 26 So..aparently they taking their time to add roadmap stuff on live client.I mean, before major patches included bunch of stuff from roudmap , 5-7, and now its just one(supressors) .and it took them nearly 5 mounths and counting.. Could that be because most of devs moved to A4 , or are they simply stalling ?
kev2go 9 Posted September 29 i read sometime ago on thier discord that after v1.2 update they moved half the reforger team to work on arma 4.
stburr91 1002 Posted October 17 It's just extremely slow development, A4 is 3 years away, so I have some doubts that half the team already moved to A4.

kev2go 9 Posted October 18 i wss under the impression that development of reforger went hand in hand with arma 4, given the content and overall foundation of reforger was supposed to carry over.

Seem so from all the press release on official website but we expect Arma 4 to have all the single-player stuff and whatnot that Reforger will not have and God knows what else also needs to be developed. That probably takes more time then what they made so far combined. If you ever wanted to builds some "lore" so to say in a mission, then you know how time consuming that can be, for example. I have a feeling it will go through its own EA phase. IT wouldn't surprise if A4 launches without singleplayer campaign just like Arma 3 didn't have it in its initial release. The big thing is a proper mission editor. AS long as thats included in day 1 i think most people will be content waiting for an actual official campaign since that would allow people to just create thier own single player scenarios.

Thank you for bringing that up, yes that imo is seriously what the new game would need is an editor, i can only assume it will but how will it be setup, either something like Arma 3, or implemented externally like Reforger. I hope that its like Arma3's but an upgraded version with more tools, functionally and other features, though considering the new game would be on the Enfusion engine now i hope they make the editor more user friendly where assets can be chosen and dropped into a workspace like currently with Arma 3 and managed from there. I dont care about the rest of the game, build the game around the editor, the editor imo is the core of the game and everything else comes from it, missions, campaigns ect,.other then mods and such. I remember playing Arma 3 alpha and when it had no ragdoll physics, the day an update added that, i was so impressed by that, it totally changed how the game played, after years of random preplaced bodies we now have something dynamic, wow. Take that and years of the 2d editor and now we get 3d eden, omg! I remember in Arma 2 there was an option to go to the 3d editor but it didn't work 100%, how times have changed! But 2027 they have alot of time to really make the next iteration good, they already have a couple yrs head start on Reforger so that should give them a base to work with.

You're probably right, I'll just point out that date seems a bit conjured up. Until there are official announcements, I won't concern myself much with such things and even then, those are to be taken with a healthy spoon of salt.
