I have a rather crappy joystick right now. Would you say the Sidewinder FF is good to buy ? Then I will get me one until they are around and not high-pricers at EBay

I use this old Joystick, it's quite lovely in FS2002.

Company musta' went out of business or something - don't see the sticks around anymore

I've had my 'Thrustmaster: Top Gun, Fox-2, Pro Shock' since Christmas, and everthing has been fine so far. I see no reason to buy M$ products, other than Windows and M$ Flight Simulator. FS 2004 is coming out soon, so it's time for another costly upgrade.

i have a sidewinder force feed back 2. but ofp didn't run good at all when i had it in use so i had to unplug it and uninstall the software. but it was still a great joystick. worked great w/ B17 the might 8th.

Don't let your bias against MS blind you to the fact that the Sidewinder line of products are very good quality. Good construction, durability, and solid support. For budget sticks, only Saitek can beat them.

Get the Saitek X-45. No FF, but damn is it a fine stick.

My original Sidewinder 3D Pro was a great stick. My only beef is that the newer gameports on most sound cards and motherboards wouldnt recognize the thing, so I had to upgrade to a Logitech.

Sidewinder products were cool, but there were some odd ones (Which I have! )

Like say that Sidewinder Strategic Commander and the Gamevoice.

That X-45 is sooo nice. I really dont have 80 bucks to spend on it though.

Ive tried it over at best buy (just feeling it not playing games.) and it has so many buttons i dont know what you would do with them all.

Warin have you tried the X-45? Is it good quality?

Warin has one- I might have told y'all this before, but I nearly ended up getting an X45, but Best Buy only had the display model, and I'd just gotten Il-2 Sturmovik, and my old Saitek Cyborg had finally given out. So... I had to have a joystick at that point, ya know? Anyhow, I wasn't dissapointed at all in my choice.

I also got an Antec/Chieftec case and they rock.

I myself got Logitech Wingman Force Feedback and i must say they are very much alike the force feedback from M$.

So if you cant find sidewinder, buy a Logitech !

Hmmm to bad, they made really good products. For yoysticks I preferred Logitech but the Sidewinder gamevoice system is the best you can buy. I am gonna buy a two pack of them in the near future, I hope they go down in pricing though

Very good quality. The programming software (not what comes with it, but the newer stuff directly from Saitek) is excellent.

Its really cool to have the trim settings for FB right on the rotary switches on the throttle. It makes it SO easy to fly straight and level hands off
